what do you all think about global warming? i mean, we see all these movies about it. for example, if you've seen The Day After Tomorrow, you know what i'm talking about. plus, we get obvious evidence all the time. here in Connecticut, USA, a week ago it was around 50 degrees. now it's been 90 degrees every day. do you think global warming will happen, and if so, what theories do you believe in?

Hmmm... Actually, I don't know what to think about it. I mean, when my parents were younger, people also talked about the global warming and the seasons changing and stuff. But so far, I haven't seen temperature rising to 30°C in winter.
But you hear it all the time, yes, it's true. I live in Belgium, and in May, it was a few days up to 30°C. People were immediately talking about the global warming, cause this was never seen. When my parents hear that, they think of a summer in their younger days. That summer was pretty hot, not like any of the summers we had lately.
The planet is warming up, we can't deny that. But it's not like it's going to explode within a couple of years. Cause that's the way people are acting.

i think we could all be a little more economic, but it's us that has brought society to the point where we feel cars are the best forms of trasnport, and aerosals are the best way to keep fresh...

well, i just wanna say lobal warming hv existed a long time ago, if there is no global warming on earth, here now we got 10 d/c lower and it is not a suitable temp for animals to live, but the problem we are hving right now is that the phenomenon is getting worser and worser cause by human's activities, and it create PROBLEM!!!
what i care more is the global colding cuase there has a study shown that the globe is having a colding trend...
well, no matter is the earth having a warming or colding trend , what i know is that both trend is a disaster to human being, ,,, and we need to minimize the pollution we cause so, i think BUSH is such a fucking asshole, as he resist to sign the Kyoto Protocol, (for god sake, i wish some ppl know what is it...)
why do a country can enjoy its economic growth with the destrction to the whole damn world environment??!!

i dont think that global warming is caused by humans...for example...a volcanic erruption can release as much or more toxins than we have for the past 50 years...and thats alot in one time...i also think that there is no way taht we can stop it from happening...its like the ice age but backwards...but we're still gonna live through it...they probably have before...but it could also be caused by different gas pockets on the sun exploding and sending excess heat out into the universe...so all the politicians that r building their careers on global warming and trying to get hybrid cars on the road (which by the way get about the same gas milage as a deseil (sp))

Global warming is a serious issue that should have been delt with ages ago. It may not be clearly evident in the United States, but there are a lot of countries that are very much affected. Not only is wildlife affected, but the ecomony is too and same goes for eco-tourism.

I went on a trip to the Maldives about five years ago because my dad had business thereto do with the effect of global warming on coral refs. Let me show you the effects of global warming.

Above are pictures of coral reefs affected by global warming. Coral is actually a living organism and can only survive in certain temperatures, or else they bleach.

Above is the picture of a healthy reef.

I think that you can see the difference between each. Also which one is more attractive. Every year, the Maldives are clogged with tourists, during travelling season. Imagine all of the coral reef beauty, just wiped away. That would destroy the eco-tourism and local businesses which depend on tourists. There would be no incoming money from other countries. zthe Maldives' economy would suffer dearly.

Habitats for many spieces of fish will also be destroyed. The first time I ever went scube diving was in the Maldives, infact here's a picture of me during me first scube dive:
Image
I saw many many fish. Butterfly fish, angel fish, a baby moray eel, baby black tip reef sharks, little clown fish, fuliers. If there were no reefs, there would be none of these fish, and no place for me to go scuba diving.

The goverment, not of the Maldives, but of gas expelling countries need to take serious measures in order to keep the levels of CO2 low. We just might be able to save other countries if we work to protect our environment.

And if you think it isn't affecting the US, think again. I have a twenty page report on global warming.

When the time comes it will be too late. It takes about 50 years to grow 10 cm of coral reef which has been damaged by global warming.

We're still making it worse though. You know with the holes in the ozone layer.

No, but we shouldn't use them as much. If we use bicycles as well as public transportation, then not only will it solve our global warming problems, but our obessity problems as well. Very Happy

no, im just saying, complaining about it when it's our fault won't do any good, if we want to change it, we need to come up with ways, not just talk bout it. but at the moment, i see no point, the temperature maybe a little mixed up but so what? its better than the boring old usual...

well you soon will when there isn't a country left and the rise in temperature melts the polar ice caps and a massive flood kills us all!
