At the risk of being flamed... A lot of dudes that I know are homophobic, they think it's "wrong". I don't know for sure but it seems to me that there's more male homophobes than female. Any ideas to why that is? A macho thing? A "I don't wanna be mistaken for gay" thing?

Do you even know what religion IS? Religion is a strong belief in a God. So how about you come here and tell me I'm evil? Tell me some of the people who have saved my life on more than one occasion are evil? Tell me my family is full of evil people because we believe in God. It's got something to do with the fact that every female is born bi-curious. That's something that's been scientifically proven, and women don't have any problem admitting that. About 90% of men are born bi-curious but refuse to admit it.

Just because people are homosexual it doesnt make them any different. This is why i hate religion, my friend Matt recently came out and he got kicked out his church for it, he has lost all his faith now and that is so upsetting. It's hard enough for them to put up with what they do but when your own religion turns its back on you thats when you know the world isn't right.
I have many gay friends and they are just like my normal friends i dont treat them any different and i couldnt care less if the were gay, straight or purple with yellow spots no one can change who they are i love them all to bits.

Same. And believe me, I have tried. I've debated this so many times, this is the ONLY political issue I CAN'T see both sides on.

IT doesnt matter if someone is gay, lesbian or bi-sexual, you are the way you are no one can change that. The whole thing with religion...im now agnostic/atheist, but i grew up til last year with being Catholic, so they big thing is, God makes us the way we are, so wouldnt that mean he made us gay, lesbian or bi. wouldnt it?! okay, i can only say this because i am personally bi-sexual, i have a girlfriend, i have had boyfriends, its a personal opinion if you wanna think its wrong or right to have same-sex couples. If you wanna think its wrong, thats youre opinion, im not pushing it upon anyone to believe its right. I don't mind homosexuals. You can't change how someone like the same sex as themselves.
It does get pretty annoying when people use 'gay' as an insult though.
But if they really mean it, then it's their opinion and I'm not gonna try to change it.

Because one person somewhere down the line thought it would be a good idea to say that a "rule" that was written billions of years ago should still be listened to and someone else decided that meant everyone who believed in God and/or Jesus Christ felt the same way.

As far as the religious aspect of this goes: In the same book of the Bible that it says being gay is an abomination, it says wearing two articles of clothing made of a different fabric is an abomination. Whichs means right now I'm sinning, and I bet I'm not the only one. Times change, rules change with them, simple as that.

But most likely by the time I have children- maybe by the time I have grandchildren- people will look at all of this gay rights stuff the same way we look at black rights and womens rights back in the sixties and seventies.
