Do you think the government has lost control of England? (Or any other country, but I'm English so I know most about England haha).
I mean, lost control of its people and the like?
Because people can get away with SO much nowadays! It's somewhat..ridiculous!
What are your views?

it's somewhat true. it seems like the government are trying to make up more laws rather than enforce the ones that already exist. also that they're having more problems within their own people that their main focus is solving the government problems, not the society's problems.

I don't think the government has lost control, in fact i think it's the complete opposite, they've managed to bring this country to it's knees (England) Under these new terror laws they can do what they please to us, after the london bombings an innocent man was gunned down in the street, thrown to the floor and shot 6 times.

The American CIA have got ghost flights picking up european suspects and flying them to other country's to be held in camps, their doing this without informing the suspects governments officials, which sounds alot like Nazism to me. an INNOCENT german man was kept for 6 months, tortured and beaten by American officials, before being set free and you have Condoleeza Rice defending these actions.

The NHS is in shatters because the government is overspending in the civil service department and on oversees budget.

Tony Blair is going to end up losing the Rebate which Margaret Thatcher fought tooth and nail to get, a rebate that has kept the english economy a float through the turbelent times of the 80s. And why because he wants to gain control of the EU. Whith Jaque Chirac doing what the hell he pleases.

England is giving referendum after referendum and it does nothing because OUR GOVERNMENT DOES NOT CARE ANYMORE. we don't even have the right to speak our minds. If we reject something they will find another path to it.

Working-class has become middle-class, we have a third of the population living on un-needed benefits and those entitled to those benefits get nothing, because the civil servants of this world want a pay rise.

For centuries in Britain we have been under the thumb, Our ancestors failed to bring the chartist act and we our failing to keep hold of our culture, our heritage, everything the damn flag stands for we've lost through political correctness.

Do you want to know what generation we belong to Generation E. Which stands for Europe, we no longer have our seperate wills and beliefs we've become one giant nation and why, so that we can stand up to the one and only super power left in this world, America. Now i feel damn bitter about this because i don't want to be european i'm quite happy being English.

But if europeans want to be able to keep their economy's a-float we have no other option, the world has become a tug-a-war contest, what we feel and think doesn't matter anymore.

but alas i have hope for a better tommorow, it only takes one person to change the events of an entire century. Hell we're only 5 years into this one.

but then, I think we need tougher sentencing laws in New Zealand. I've heard so many cases in which murderes were sentenced for under ten years then have the sentence reduced. As if it weren't short enough. Hardly anyone is afraid to commit a crime here. Although of course, the imprisonment and torture of innocent people is much bigger than petty crimes like B&E (which are not looked into with depth here). I don't think our government has lost control, I mean it's losing it bit by painful bit, but hey, I honest to god hate politicians and their faux promises and fake concern for us little people (except for maybe the Green's Party) so if people are refusing to listen to them, I really don't mind.

People who commit benefit fraud? The unemployed who willingly sit on their backsides all day and make no effort to get a job?

Ok but what about the people who are getting the benefit are they are entitled to it, like Working tax credit, or disabilty living allowance and in some cases income support, all three beefits you can still get if you are working.

Yes, I was simply giving some cases of an un-needed benefit. In fact, I know the system does have problems. The Disability living allowance system, anyway.

it was a commit towards people who commit benefit fraud, their making enough money but still take out of the pot, when there are people else where that need it. For example if you are self-employed and you become un-employed for a period you are not entitled to benefits yet you still pay your taxes.

My uncle wasn't allowed, he was told by the income support office that it was his job to secure himself not the state.

the thing is with benefits in this country is that you have to know what you are entitled to before you approach them and i was told that by some one who works for the DWP. Millions of pounds go umclaimed in this country because they have a policy of not telling you what you are allowed to claim.

No, all I meant was its not foolproof. I have heard of cases with parents of disabled children being given no allowance. Of course, nothing is perfect. I shouldn't really criticise, but I was pointing out that some people get more than they deserve and others get nothing.

yeah and i can agree with you there i have 2 disiabled children and i have only just after 4 years of fighting been given the benefit, i know a person who go's to work (he earns about £250 a week) and he claims disability living allowance because he told his doctor he was paranoid becuase of the dope he smokes, and they have given him full benefit, (and i know there is nothing wrong with him) a car and all the fringe benefits thatt come with it, so i understand what you are saying the system sucks.

The education authorties suck in this country aswell. Perhaps the goverment should do somthing about it. All they are really interested in is making the rich richer and the poor poorer (has my gran would say)

A division in class is always evident, trying to claim benefits is the same as tryig to claim insurance, they'll use any loophole they can find to get out of paying you.

Yes i know and they shouldnt because there are poeple out there who actually need the money and they cant get it, for example my son needs 24 hour care and he needs to get to doctors appointments and he needs to get a taxi there and back and they refused me the money on the grounds that i was married, nothing against single people here but what the hell differance does it make if i have got a ill child they need help just like a single mums child does the system works for some poeple but not others and it sucks. I do now get the benefit only because i was a stubborn cow and didnt let go.

This is nothing compared to a child needing medical help, but another thing that annoys me is EMA, teens in college are allowed a 30 pound a week allowance from the government if they attend, unless i'm seriously ill i never miss school, yet i'm not allowed it cause my parents earn over 30,000 a year. I don't even live with my parents.

Exactly. When I was ill (a long time ago), my parents never got any Disability Living Allowance. Granted, it wasn't a life threatening illness but it could have been. And yes, it is an extremely selfish thing to say because my parents both have jobs, but mistakes are made.
