Alcohol is, just as cigarettes, an amusement drug. When someone gets drunk on a party, we all laugh because he or she is doing and saying stupid things. And 1 glass of whine, or 1 bottle of beer doesn't make you drunk.
But it all needs to stay within the lines. There's a certain line which you can not cross. And that's the line between amusement and addiction.

I'm very lucky to say my parents haven't been drunk, as far as I know, and also that my mother or father or that they both aren't alcoholics. But that doesn't resolve the problems of children who do have alcoholic parents.
Seeing a person who's drunk at a party is always a laugh, but when we realise that person is always drunk, we all quit laughing. We even find it terrible for the relatives who have to live with him or her every day.
And more terrible is that most alcoholics lie and cheat to get what they want.

At a party, I usually drink no alcohol, or it has to be something I really like drinking. But even then, it's only 1 glass.
On other moments, like new year, or christmas ... I like to drink a glass of champagne. But that's only one.
I don't like drunk people, because they don't know what they do or say. And mostly, they are very impolite and rude.

Because of all those reasons, I have never been drunk in my entire life. You guys may laugh at me as much as you want, but I'm proud of it.
(which does not mean that you get addicted after being drunk once)

It can kill people as most people know but they don't really take into account about how badly it can damage their bodies.

My god I have changed since I made this thread

When I made it I hardly ever drank...now I tend to get drunk a fair bit...but that's probably only cause I've finished school & exams & I'm just having a bit of a celebratory period lmfao!!

But I can understand why people get addicted to it now...I mean it's such a nice feeling..naturally I am so shy..with that bit of alchohol inside you you feel on top of the world! I'm not condoning it on ANY account, I'm just saying I understand better than I did

it depends on your BMI and food intake (and in my case: amount of sleep

so even with my big BMI, I usually don't get much sleep, or skip a night of sleep at least twice a week, I don't eat much when I drink...so yeah, one glass (or shot) can make me drunk, it all depends

Yeah, you could.
Each human is different, you can get paraletic off one drink or be stone cold sober after six, it all depends on the individual.
And, of course, what it is you're drinking.

I guess they're talking about one standard drink?

But yeah, you're right. Because my friend's mother gets drunk and falls dead asleep after one standard drink. So she doesn't drink at all.

I'd be drunk after one drink. My body can't handle the alcohol, which spill_no_sick explained very nicely for everyone. My Body Mass Index is pretty low, in the lower part of average. I don't drink, either. So one drink means I really would be drunk, it's entirely biologically possible.

well i hardly ever drink as much as probabaly most 18 year olds drink. so whever i'm around it, i don't know when to stop.
i'm probabaly going to die of alcohol poisoning.
some peopl will probabaly be like "wtf you never drink."
but they don't see it. when someone never drinks at home or socialises..... they won't know when to stop when the alcohol does come by.

Meh. My dad used to be an alcoholic, and like 2 years ago he got in therapy and drank less for a while but it's all the same now and he keeps drinking every night.

I drink like once a month or so but I've seen what alcohol does to people and I don't want to become that.

I drink, but only every once in a
while..

I really don't like the fact that
there are 13 year olds out
there who are getting smashed..

You're right.. They
really don't know what they're doing
to themselves..

I agree with alot of people on here. 12 and 13 year olds shouldn't be drinking. It could harm them now and in the long run.

I used to drink quite a bit until one time I passed out in a bathroom and woke up almost 4 hours later with vomit all over me. Now the smell of alcohol makes me sick.
