Setting: 2040...England

Plot: England is under facist rule. The government dictates EVERYTHING the people do, right down to the music they listen to. Evey (Natalie Portman) is a young girl in her 20's who gets in a spot of trouble with the police after cerfew, her life is in danger until a man in a Guy Fawks mask rescues her. His name is "V" and he is a vigilant hell bend on getting England their freedom back. Evey befrends "V" and you'll have to watch the movie to get the rest, because to divulge anymore would give it all away.

If you have seen it, what are your thoughts?

Thanks, I was wondering what this movie was about. Laughing
It looked really interesting, but seeing as you said anyone who doesn't understand politics won't like it, I probably won't watch it.

There isn't a ton of shooting, but if you like to see people die you'll be satisfied.

It's actually not that bad.
They say "shit" a lot, but that's it.
Mostly just because of the violence.

I want to see it very badly but I can't because it's R. I'll watch it when it comes out on DVD. I think it'll be interesting, plus the character of "V" intrigues me.

The story line was down right stupid and pretentious, just a mordern day Guy Fawkes, with a furturist BBC and Natalie Portman was awful in it. Seeing it was a waste of my time.
Wish I'd seen Syriana instead...

Despite all the "buzz" and George Clooney winning an Oscar, it was not that good.

I just saw the movie on Sunday and I found it moving and seriously awsome! Plus the choice of musical scores was perfect!

I wanted to see it with my friends... (it's only 14A here, so I can.) But they have bad taste and will refuse. I might wait to rent it.

The Overture of 1812 was the kicker for me.

I seen the film yesterday so I can finally reply to that:
It's a brilliant film, hugly ambitious. Clooney deserved that Oscar.
But this isn't really for this thread.
