Almost all the bands that achieved success are some kind overrated. It's pathetic when the radio announcer is saying 'and now the best band on earth' over and over again. It can destroy the pleasure from listening, no matter how good the music is.

Unless its like Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, The Beatles, The Clash or The Who. Because they ARE among the best bands ever.

Here are these bands, IMO

Metallica - their last album kinda sucked and their music brings nothing new, same old riffs and lyrics
H.I.M. - Finland's worst "rock" band, with Nightwish and The Rasmus
Good Charlotte - I never liked them, I think they don't even know who to play their instruments.

Metallica are amazing. Nothing else can explain them.
I'm not much a fan of H.I.M, but they have talent. And Good Charlotte, they know how to play them, they just don't know how to entertain people with them, that well.

Nirvana - my favorite band, but the people who talk really highly of them are the ones who know nothing about them, so FUCK YOU if you go around talking about how good Nevermind is and how good Smells Like Teen Spirit is when the whole song is targeted against anyone who only listens to singles and praises a band they know nothing about!!!!!!

Elvis Presley - I like him, but he stole the spotlight from Chuck Berry who made better music, Elvis was just the originater of contreversy in rock music (which is important, but he's credited for his music when he made other contributions to the genre)

I said Nirvana was overrated, but I just meant that more than half the people that praise them don't get their music and are only saying it because it's the "in thing" to do
and Sonic Youth is still considered underground (even though all of their albums have reached the BillBoard Top 100, but that's just because they have a huge fan base, no media attention.)

and most people don't get Nirvana so they can't say anything bad about them
"oh, well Kurt was bad at guitar"
he could actually play a lot of those songs that were all guitar based like a pro, but he was a distortionist, the band didn't praise a single instrument like most bands where the guitar is the focus
