...im in the midst of learning how to do a cheap home recording for my band...

How do I connect the amp to the monitors/speakers... where is the output on the amp, and do i need a specific cable, or will a guitar or mic cable be sufficient?

Also, could someone who understands this concept check my plan to make sure it will work?

WHAT I GOT
Amp- 30 watt Laney HardoreMax Bass
Guitar-Yamaha Lefthand 4 string
Cables- nonphantom mic cables/ standard guitar cables
Monitor- Kustum KPC10 10'' Monitor
Mixer- Fostex vf160ex 16 input recorder/mixer/burner

PLAN
simple demo recording
---------------------------
DRUMS- CLOSE MIK'D, GO INTO 8 INPUT MIXER, GO INTO 16 INPUT MIXER/RECORDER/BURNER

BASS/GUITAR- GO INTO PEDALS (IF NEEDED), GO INTO AMPS, GO INTO MONITORS, GO INTO SEPERATE 2 INPUT MIXERS, GO INTO 16 INPUT MIXER/RECORDER/BURNER

you can still mix it. i have a program to do that. it's not exactly the same, but you can do a lot with it.
