I dont know if anyone has seen this but i'm going to see it tomorrow, here is a bit about it:

Ghost Rider was one of the more adventurous and progressive comic book creations. In some ways the 70s for comic books was like the 50s for the Western; a time when the anti-hero emerged. Suddenly instead of star spangled patriots we had boundary riders whose actions approximated those of the villain even if they still stood on the side of good. It would serve as a prototype for the current dark shadings of characters in comic books today.
Ghost Rider tells the Faustian tale of a stunt rider who unwittingly does a deal with the devil to save the life of his father. Years later he is given the chance to get out of the contract by battling Blackheart, the devil's adversary, which he does as well as all the evil he encounters on the way.

Ghost Rider might not be the greatest comic book crossover but it's still a super entertainment. Nicholas Cage is getting a little old to play these roles but he still manages to pull it off simply because just adding him to the cast introduces an extra level of irony. Peter Fonda puts in an appearance as the great Mestopheles; clearly a nod to his role as an easy rider and it's one he takes to with relish. The other star is the Melbourne setting which fares very well indeed and it's fun to spot the local icons and the Aussie actors in the cast.

What Ghost Rider lacks however is a unifying aesthetic. All the other great comic book crossovers like Spider-Man and Batman have a distinct look and feel and ambience, a universe you enter whenever you visit them. Ghost Rider has some compelling iconography like flaming skulls and ghostly horsemen but the film looks otherwise very ordinary, detracting from the grand themes of the film.

Ghost Rider should ride on to further success if it comes back from the dead again. In the meantime it's yet another addition to Marvel Comics' ever growing stable of cinematic superheroes.

what do you all think?
