Righto, I looked, and there wasnt a thread for him.

So yush, discuss mighty mighty Draco here ~~

I personally feel sorry for him. Hes been pressured into becoming who he is by his fathers expectations.
Although, maybe he thinks his father someone to look up to. idk.

Theories. Feelings. Pictures.
This is the place for them :]

Aw. I think he's a sly bastard but I feel quite sorry for him after HBP. And I don't think much of his parents, although they make damn good characters.

He's been made who he is by his parents, which although not an excuse (look at Sirius, for example) still factors greatly in it all.

Although, with regard to Sirius comparisons, he was put into slytherin and automatically became their leader which would have also pressured him to be an arrogant, bigoted little creep.

In my opinion, Draco is a tortured soul and the right girl could turn him into the complete softy that he secretly is.

According to some fanfictions and deluded twelve year olds...or both.

Dumbledore didn't give him that option until the last minute, and besides, Dumbledore or Snape was going to die, no question, because of the unbreakable vow, and he most likely felt there was no escape from Voldemort or his father.

Didn't Voldemort threaten to kill his mother if he didn't do it? I'm not sure if that's something I've read in fanfiction, or if it actually happened.

But either way, when you've been born to that side, and Voldemort tells you to do something, you do it.

Voldemort said that he would kill Draco's mum and and dad if he didn't kill DD.

But Dumbledore promised him extra protection, so he could just not kill him Dumbledore escape, etc.

Anyway, sticking to my theory of "Snape is good" Dumbledore knew he had to die to let Snape live and, in my opinion prepare a master plan to help Harry and the Order kill Voldie.

Well exactly, when you're under that kind of pressure you're not just going to run straight to Dumbledore. And protection was only promised seconds before the other death eaters burst into the tower, so Malfoy didn't even get the chance.

He DID lower his wand though, and I think Malfoy's going to come through to the good side, even though he's so heavily immersed in the dark side. HBP really showed him in a different light to the other books,

I'm keeping the faith, because I think his insecurities are going to make him into a better person, along with the fact that Harry (if he's sensible) will realise that Malfoy's just quite a sad case really.

Yeah, but please people, don't go thinking that Draco will end up with Hermione:

Look here and you'll see it isn't true.

oh yeah, i know that would never happen.

i think everyone does tbh.

hes done too much damage for it to ever be possible, and Hermione hates him.

and even if he turns good. i doubt he'll ever have fuzzy feelings for a muggle-born.

Yeah but people aren't necessarily saying that, because we all know Hermione will end up with Ron, but it's just a fanfiction favourite.

I love it in fanfiction, but in the real books it just wouldn't work.

Hmmm....Draco......

Well, my views of him are slightly warped because
1. Tom Felton is brilliant as Draco, and
2. I once wrote a phic [phic=Phantom of the Opera fanfiction] that combined POTO with HP, and in it I wrote that Draco's been under the Imperius Curse by order of Lucius [I can't spell that to save my life] for all these years at Hogwarts and Lucius had Snape regularly administer the spell and he--Draco--wound up falling in love with Hermione in those short moments where he fell out of the spell...I got incredibly good reviews for it, too, on a POTO site. Retard

...Anyway. I love how HBP shows a different side of him, and how he almost didn't kill DD and stuff....but I think he's got some good in him, but outside forces are preventing him from embracing that side of him. His father. Voldemort. The rest of Slytherin.

...I dunno. Just something I came up with just two minutes ago. Faith

Oh he's definitely a good guy trapped in the confines of social expectations.

And let's face it, he's not brave, so he just goes along with it. He's a slytherin, he just wants to make sure he's alive, which when you think about it, is fair enough.

He's never really done anything that terrible before HBP, so I think it shows, and when he does have to do something terrible he ends up crying in the bathroom with moaning myrtle.

Malfoy is good. He just wants to fit in his father's pride.

He's very proud for being in Slytherin, he calls Hermione a "Mudblood" because if he were to respect her, he would fall in misery.

I personally think he'll help Harry defeat Voldemort.
