So, who introduced you to the clash? How did you come to like them? Etc. etc.

My dad & I used to sing rock the casbah whilst riding our bikes (for some inexplicable reason), but that was before I had even heard of the clash. But my parents bought me the essential clash a few years ago because they knew I liked green day Cool

Sooo, what about you?

Similar story. Numerous family members steered my musical tastes in the right direction and I connected the dots from The Ramones and Chuck Berry and Jimmy Cliff to The Clash. But yeah, my dad was a big fan and used to go off singing it to himself when I was too young to notice.

When I came on GSB liking Green Day, I noticed that lots of other people happened to like a group called the Clash. So I figured, since they like what I like I'd like them as well. And I did. Clearly, or I wouldn't be posting here.

My dad used to sing Should I Stay or Should I Go to me when I was a baby to get me to fall asleep. Razz But I didn't actually get into the Clash for another decade or so later. I guess I found them when I found punk rock, I was just completely facinated by the philosophies of punk and all so I started looking into bands. When I found the Clash, I realized I recognized a good amount of their songs and bought the Singles about 4 or 5 years ago... so yeah... that's where the addiction began. Up

lmfao I have no idea tbh. I guess I just got into punk and it all came by itself. The three bands that I knew were influental in punk music were The Clash, Sex Pistols & Ramones. The Clash became my favourite instantly and thats basically it.

Really! tehe Wow, Spain is weird. It's the only album I can ever find here, which is so frustrating when you're trying to build up your collection.

GSB, pretty much. I saw a few people liked them, so I asked mum about them and she happened to have one of their CDs.

Absolutely obsessed with them now. tehe

I have to say, I'm amazed with those who were influenced by this site. I just find that amazing, that a single thread or board can make such a huge impact on someone's life. Well, The Clash made a huge impact on mine, so I'm assuming it did to everyone else too.

Britain and it's music channels decided that the clash were hot and put it on the music channels and now people wear their shirts oblivious to the fact that they're actually a band Surprised

You know, I was so surprised to find Burning London here. I mean, leave out all of The Clash's actual albums but put in a tribute album in which the songs aren't even half as good as the originals? Don't know who made that stupid desicion.
