No thread on Guillermo Del Toro's new movie? I am shocked. How could this have slipped under your radars? For shame.

This was a fantastic movie. It was moody, suspenseful, and poignant, all at the same time. And while there was nothing particularly original about the plot or production style (the story structure and everything's-tinted-bluish-green editing is nothing we haven't seen before in movies like The Ring and The Grudge), this brand of supernatural mystery/thriller is such a new genre that it didn't come off the least bit trite. And, to its further credit, The Orphanage was host to some of the most inventive and truly disquieting scenes ever seen in a horror movie (namely the medium's investigation of the orphanage and Laura's "Uno, Dos, Tres" game with the spirits of the orphans).

We were looking on the Phoenix website in Film Studies and I noticed it.
So me and my dad have decided to go, since it's been ages since we've done anything decent.
