But seriously, I could understand if the child sent it to someone over 18. But both underage I don't see it as much as a problem....

I was 14, I've sent them even after I was caught, but I stopped a long time ago. I don't see a point in it...
I've grown up a lot, I find it dumb and immature...

Sexting is awful, and stupid.

I mean, you can't ever really trust people with nude pictures.
And, it'd be awful for them to get out and you to never be able to get your image back.

Yeah. Sexting. Not good AT ALL. All I have to do is read and listen about horror stories and it turns me off from it.

I don't get it, personally. I mean, getting the title of a "sex offender" is a litlle ridiculous, but I just don't understand why people send that stuff to each other. Whatever.

I think sexting should be fine if both people are okay with it, but not if one person's going to be horribly shocked. In America, a girl who was 15 sent nude pics by text to her 18 year old boyfriend. He didn't ask for them and because he wasn't underage and she was, he got found out and got punished badly for that. But I guess that's all they can do, it's not like anyone else was there to prove that he didn't ask for them. He just claims that he didn't ask for them. If what he says is true I feel sorry for him but they should be more careful I suppose.

I'm just gonna clear up a few misconceptions in this thread. Most laws regarding child pornography refers to a picture of a video that exposes ~bits~ of a person who is below the age of 18 years, or whatever age is considered to be adult in the country (18 years is the norm). HOWEVER, sex between two people who are over the area's age of consent is completely legal.

So what it boils down to is this. Take my example from last year with my girlfriend. She was 16 and I was 18, we had sex and that was legal. However any pictures she would send me would be considered child pornography.

It's a stupid law and should be removed imo, especially if it can be proven that the picture was GIVEN by the person's own will. It's their body after all, if they want to run the risk of exposing it to the world that's their choice, people shouldn't become a criminal if they're asked "hae, u wnt dis pic of mi LOL". A malicious person could use this to land them in serious trouble, and no doubt it's happened somewhere in the world already.

the majority of people I've heard doing it are really young. I disapprove completely.
