Okay, so I was looking into this (don't ask why, I don't really know) and I saw that mercenaries were looked down upon.

I can understand that after 9/11 people wouldn't trust mercenaries (because from what I've read a lot of people think that they were the ones who did it) but really, mercenaries aren't that bad (in my opinion).

They only do what they're hired to do. I think it takes an immense amount of courage to completely let go of all your morals and beliefs and do whatever it takes to get the job done. You would have to lie, cheat, steal, kill... it takes an immense amount of courage to do those kinds of things.

I don't mean to say that mass murderers are cool or anyhing like that, I'm just saying, how many of you would do ANYTHING just to get a job done? The better they do at each job, the more they are hired. And they don't all join for money. Some join because they can't be in the military for whatever reason. Some join for something to do, for an adventure.

The point is, these people put their lives on the line just by walking down the street. Imagine being on edge all the time, all because you get hired to do something deplorable by any means necessary. They have to do things at least once that most of us couldn't even imagine, and many of them have to take extra safety precautions as a result. For the rest of their lives.

Not all of them, but many many mercenaries are hired just for someone's dirty work. And when I say dirty work, I mean DIRTY WORK.

That's my opinion on the matter, anyways. I felt like making an opinionated thread about mercenaries since there wasn't one before. And now I'm asking you to tell me what you think, discuss your ideas, start a freakin debate!
