Private schools VS. Public schools.

I dislike my private school because it is so small it has a lack of diversity

Because private schools don’t have to except everyone they often only accept kids who they think will be good students.

Unfortunately many of these “good students” seem to act as if there robots. They do not have the courage to speck up for themselves and when they believe that a teacher is doing something unfair they do not stand up for themselves.

They also don’t stand up for others even there good friends. I was once got detention for “interrupting” when I raised my hand, the teacher called on me and I said “can you please open a window? Its really warm in here”. Later that day my friend told me everyone in the class thought that was really stupid, yet they did not say anything about it because they where to scared of getting in trouble

A small school also makes it hard for people to find friends with the same interests as them, although there are many smart, funny and nice people in my school that I enjoy spending time with, however I still cannot find people with similar interests

On the bright side even though our school has a lot of “robots” in it. It is still a school with liberal and environmentally aware students. Although few kids have deep interest in politics, we can always poke some fun at Bush =)

I have gone to a Catholic School my whole life. I love it. Ya, we wear uniforms and ya it's harder, but it's worth the $4,000 every year. I mean I'm not rich or anything. I mean ever since I started going to the high school we haven't been gone one vacation. I think it will be worth it in the end. It funny b/c most of the kids that go there aren't rich. We don't have too many snobs, some but not a lot.

I went to a private school and it showed. I took IGCSE's instead, and I got A*'s and A's. So I guess it does show. Plus I did a third language. I think your school just might be crap to be blunt.

I got A*'s and A's...I'm below average. I got one B and thatwas in triple award science. Loads of my friends got A*'s and one or two A's. I just got mostly A's. I mean, at my school, you're supposed to get 40+ for IB.

You know, getting good grades aren't the only thing a school has to offer. Not everybody gets the highest grades. Some people can't. No wonder some schools get high grades, when they only take on students capable of scoring 100% in every test.
As far as my school goes, getting pure A*'s is never going to be a possiblity (the number of disabled and poor ability students they take on is never going to allow that..). But you know something?. I'll bet its just as good as any private edcuation. Because its the ethos that matters. My school couldn't give a damn if you got E's and F's in your GCSE's, as long as you worked as hard as humanly possible for them. And it doesn't take a whole wad of cash and fancy uniform to achieve that.

Actually there are two girls who are mentally reatarded in my year. One is autistic or whatever and she doesn't realise the difference between her homw and school, and friends to other people, she got higher grades than me. The school I used to go to did teahc people, and they weren't too stict or anything. There was good morale, but it was competitive and student just tried hard and did surprisingly well. It's really interesting all the planning and learning tests you are supposed to take. In every subject. My friend got the best score for piano grade 8 on the Royal Conservatory Board this year in the WORLD! It's crazy.I sucked before I went to the school. When I left, I was doing really well compared to an average student for a public school.

In a private school, it has a different atmosphere. The kids there are encouraged to be competitive, and do well, and I know you can only do as well as you can, but I think that if you're in an envirnment where you're encouraged to learn and do well, then you will do better than an environment where most of the kids don't want to be there and muck up the whole time.

So I think if you want to do really well, you just have to make yourself do well, which I suppose is easier in a private school, because you're encouraged to do well, and you're in that sort of environment, but as long as you had that mind set to do well, you could achieve it in any school.

you get to work at your own pace, come and go as you please, the teachers are a lot more laid back (as is the dress code), you have smaller classes, and you get to choose (for the most part) the classes that you take. because of this, you can't fall behind in classes, you dont have to worry about getting detentions or any of that shit for skipping, a lot of the kids get along better, etc. while the teachers encourage you to do your work, they dont force you to do anything.

Plus, since I go to a Catholic School I can talk about God and Jesus Christ all I want and no one can stop me! Actually they encourage it.
