I bought my Green Day tickets, and a few days after it sold out, I saw pit tickets going for random prices, from outrageously low to outrageously high. I was pissed because I was able to afford some of those and I had tickets in the back of the venue...

U2 tickets sold for really high prices here, on ebay. $700 AU was common, and I'm certain it got higher.

^ Smiley overuse.

On ticketek, there is a 10 ticket per person limit.
I think that is fair because then you can go with a big group of friends if you like.
Personally, I think you're just pissed off that you weren't in early enough to get the tickets and now you have to pay the price by buying off eBay.
If you really wanted to go you'd pay whatever amount of money- within reason, of course.

Yeah... That's not right. But, people will do a lot of unfair things for money. They'll never be able to stop them all, but hopefully they may be able to stop some of those idiots.

Ever do that thing when you were a kid?

Get a really good toy but just play with the packaging? It's like Live 8. It doesn't really matter what was in it, it was the idea behind it.

But, just for the record, I agree with you. And that was Velvet Revolver, in my opinion.

I know, but it still wasn't worth paying £3000 quid for. If that £3000 went to Africa to help the people in need, then fine, but it went into the back pocket of a ticket tout, which isn't right in my opinion.

And...Velvet Revolver?
Pffft
It was so Pink Floyd. Very Happy

Actually, two good bands. Them and The Who.

Pfft. Green Dy and Wir sind Helden! xD

.. But yeah I agree with the topic ..

I wanted [still wanna] to go to a concert, but it was sold out in like three days [while I was on holiday so I couldn't buy any -.-] .. but there are like SO MANY offers on ebay, which annoys me .. now I have to order them on ebay, and I'm afraid of getting faked ones and stuff =[ ..

They paid for the tickets, they have every right to buy as many as they like. Placebo is a popular band and it's no surprise it sold out. Of course people are going to sell tickets at way high prices. For some people thats how they make a living.

I think it's worse for something like Live8 were tickets were given out for free and then sold for alot of money on e-Bay.
And not a penny of it goes to charity.
And people who do it should be ashamed.

How is that their fault? If they pay the money for the tickets, they shold be able to buy them.

its just making a profit on the backs of those less fortunate. And thats disgusting its just making touts richer, these people will have 4 or 5 adverts on e bay for groups of tickets and they are the same people, there should be a cap on how many tickets people are allowed to buy, when these Placebo tickets came out on sale i wasnt able to go and get tickets.

Is it their fault you couldnt get tickets right away? No. Who are you to judge their financial income? What if they are extremely poor and they make a living by selling tickets. I find it funny you think selling sex is an ok way to make a living, but concert tickets, Oh no, thats outrageous. Rolling Eyes

But they have the right to buy those tickets, and sell them for however much the chose. You may not like it, and you may not find it fair, but that really doesnt matter, they still have the right to do it.

i have tryed on E-bay and through private people

So you think it's wrong, but your going to support them anyways?

I dont know about laws by you, but In the US scalping tickets is only illegal at the location of the actual event.

it annoys me a lot that scalpers can buy large amounts of tickets and then sell them through various outlets like ebay and make a enormous profit whilst the true fans of the artists miss out on seeing them perfrom.

I think the only way they can solve the problem is if they make you pay at the venue upon arrival, ultimately this would mean that you would be cueing for hours waiting to get in and sometimes miss out because there are too many people there before you but seriously what other way can we stop them, looks like we will just have to deal with it.

or maybe the person who runs ebay should stop allowing scalpers to sell their tickets there.

I think it's disgusting.

Real fans want to see their favourite bands and they don't get the chance just because some person wants to make extra cash? There are a millio other ways to do it.

I was worried about this when I booked my MCR tickets; luckily I got them. [Just had to slip that in.]

But yeah I think this is an interesting topic.
