January 22, 2009: As I'm busy packing and settling up last-minute details for my trip to this weekend's SAG Awards, our Kathy Rowings took a few minutes to talk to one of the nominees, Elisabeth Moss. Kathy reports that the Mad Men actress, who's nominated for her lead role in the AMC show, has more than just the awards to be excited about: She just got engaged to boyfriend ("actually, now fiancé," Moss excitedly corrected herself), Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen. "It happened just a few days ago - you're actually the first press person I've told this to," she told Kathy. "It's private, so I don't want to share the details of how it happened, but I will say it was perfect." ----------- January 25, 2009: Elisabeth Moss has kept a low profile about her romance with Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen - and their wedding will be the same way, she said Sunday at the 15th Screen Actors Guild Awards. "I am keeping it kind of hush-hush," the newly engaged star said when asked about her wedding plans backstage. The only details she'd give up: "I will have everyone I love there," she said. Referencing the fact that her costar Christina Hendricks also recently announced her engagement, Moss said, "Yes, we're going to have a Mad Men-themed wedding." Moss, who won an ensemble drama SAG Award for Mad Men, revealed the news of her engagement last week to USAWeekend.com. ----------- February 11, 2009: Actress Elisabeth Moss and her comedian fiance Fred Armisen fell in love "at first sight" on live TV, according to friends. Mad Men star Moss announced her engagement to Armisen on 22 January, just three months after the couple met during an episode of the funnyman's show Saturday Night Live. Moss' Mad Men co-star John Slattery was among those on the New York set, and claims he witnessed the moment they fell for each other. He tells Us Weekly magazine, "I was there. It was like a bolt of electricity. Everyone in the room felt it." |
