I was in Florida when they happened - at first, because we were watching Sky News there, we thought it was a repeat of something. I think I was in year ten at the time... or maybe in between year nine and year ten.

It was awful. I remember feeling really panicked because we had to fly home again quite soon after. And because I'm American and show up as a foreigner on airport systems, I had my bags torn apart at every opportunity.

I was at home, getting ready to go see Green Day that weekend at T in the Park when i got a call from my brother who lives in London to say what had happened and to let my mum and the rest of us know he was ok,

he had gone into work early that morning so he was safe,

I have neve felt so scared and relieved all at once I didn't know about it till he phoned.

I spent the whole day watching TV for more info

I was doing my work experience at a nursing home, and I went in to give the residents their tea and meds and happened to spot it on the news.

Then I spent the next few hours holed up in the kitchen trying to get in touch with my best friend, who had been doing her work experience in that area of London. It was terrifying since everyone was trying to phone people there and the phone lines were getting jammed.

Luckily she was alright, but she'd been close enough that she heard the bus explode. *Shudder*

oh my gosh i can't even begin to fathom the horror she must have felt i am so sorry and i am glad she was ok

I was 14 (year 9), I was in Spanish class at the time and my teacher told us she'd seen it on the news at dinnertime. I remember the failed bombings a few weeks after too because I actually was in Spain and I saw it on the English-language newspapers.
