These guys are one of my favourite bands who I can never get bored of. I suggest them to anyone who likes Finnish Death Metal or Viking Metal bands such as Children of Bodom and Turisas like me.

The music is mostly harsh vocals with some clean vocals in choruses to various songs. They have metal rhythms which are often mixed with folk melodies on the guitar and keyboard with some acoustic in the background.

Their lyrics are often related to fantasy/historic stories that are often related to being heroes (hence why they label themselves as Heroic Folk Metal)

The band started in 1995, but my favourite albums are the last two. In 2006: Victory Songs which has had a lot of thought put into the melodies and in 2009: From Afar which is a slight change in their style with a cover of the Swedish song Vandrare. (Sorry if I spelled that wrong)

I'm not going to write pages full on Ensiferum, you can go and check them out if you're interested. I strongly suggest them to people who like Finnish metal bands in general, because they all follow the same basic style but have their own originality.

Current Members:
Petri Lindroos: Harsh vocals and guitars
Markus Toivonen: guitars, clean vocals and backing vocals
Sami Hinkka: bass, clean vocals, backing vocals
Janne Parviainen: drums
Emmi Silvennoinen: keyboards, backing vocals
