The Compositions of Mr. Cool
Tré Cool is a lyrical mastermind with a style of his own. Mr. Cool can be quoted as saying “I like Fisher Price music, nursery rhymes, and the Alphabet song”, but I wouldn’t recommend playing any of his creations in the presence of small children, we wouldn’t want to mentally damage them.
Kings for More than a Day
October 14th, 1997 is a very significant day in the history of Green Day: the day they made one gigantic step upwards in musical quality. Nimrod, their 5th studio album selling 80,000 copies in it’s first week, was well beyond the masturbating days of Longview and proved that it was possible for punk bands to grow up and still rock like always.
Warping into the Ultimate Idiots
Rewind back to 2001, Green Day was not at their highest point. Hardly speaking to each other, they were on the verge of a total breakdown. Stress, divorce, and the massive amount of pressure making an album puts on you got to them. Four years had passed since Green Day had released a studio album, so what happens when they do attempt to release an album? It gets stolen, ripped off, or according to Tré Cool (as said on an interview on 100 percent), ”sunk to the bottom of the San Francisco Bay.” This was the awakening they needed.
The Network: Exposed
Just exactly who are The Network? Many people have been asking this question lately. The Network tried to come across as the solution to the decline in musical quality these days, but their hidden agenda couldn’t be kept a secret forever. Read on to discover The Network for what they really are: heartless con artists, masters of deception and trickery.
Prior to Popularity
Before they challenged Idiot America, before gigantic arena shows, before they were one of the biggest bands in the world, they were three hopeless teenagers trying to just get a gig. Who would have known they would go on to be the infamous Green Day?
The Man Behind the Green
Rob Cavallo is a very important musical figure when it comes to Green Day and their amazing success. Things could, and almost doubtlessly would, have turned out extremely different for the trio if they had ended up not being approached by the producer. For the worse, or even better, who knows? But ultimately Green Day's future would have been dramatically altered.
Billie Joe: a Cornucopia of Artwork
From movies he enjoys to his loved family, Billie Joe’s arms have transformed into an art gallery over the years. From receiving his first tattoos in Europe all the way until now his collection seems to grow. Below you will find a list, organized by limbs, of his many, many, many tattoos.
Away from Green Day
It’s amazing how hard Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool work as Green Day. Take the previous year as example: constant touring, attending award show after award show and continually promoting their newest album seems to have kept the trio pretty preoccupied. Green Day has been working extremely hard since stage one, which is very noticeable in their music and success. So when the guys finally decide to take a short 'break' how do you think they spend it? Do you think they spend all their time sitting around twiddling their thumbs? Or perhaps on a nice beach with an ice cold glass of lemonade? Maybe, how do I know? Jeez, I don't stalk the guys! However, I do know that they each have had their own various projects.
A Masterpiece Named Mike Dirnt
Mike has adorned his body with a plethora of tattoos that have gradually accumulated over the years. Many are influenced by his life, side bands, and loved ones. "I usually get mine done by the same people, except this one chick who tried to tear my skin off."- Mike Dirnt on getting his tattoos.
1994: the Year of Green Day
Grammys, Mudstock, number one song on the modern rock charts around the world, it's safe to say that Green Day owned 1994. Sacrificing personal safety zones and leaving behind old friends were just a few of the many things Green Day had to do to achieve the success they had with their monster hit album, Dookie.
