Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA, July 28th, 2004

First of all I want to give thanks to my friend Brian (from GD.net) for telling me about this in the first place and to my dad for taking me. It was an awesome show; my money was very well spent. When we got there it was about 8:00 pm and they didn’t start playing until about 9:00 pm but it was worth the wait. At first, they had the American Idiot cover (hand with a heart shaped grenade) as their background but when they came out that dropped and it just said GREEN DAY. Tre was the first to appear on stage, then cam Mike, and last but not least “the man” Billie Joe:they all spinted out on stage like a retarded football team (no offense but they did.) They started singing their new single “American Idiot” but unfortunately I missed a part of that because I got busted for taking pictures. After that song they gave thanks to all of the fans there for coming out to see them on such short notice. The set list below contains stars. Let me make a key for you guys. request=*, cover=**, request AND cover=*** Ok i hope you guys get that.

There was the set list. Ok here are a few comments on some of the songs. Here we go: American Idiot was GREAT. The opera was AMAZING; I like how it changed tempo. Hitchin' a Ride was the first song that he played with his trademark guitar or "baby blue" or whatever. Longview was classic because of the moshpit and it was snazzy because Billie Joe told 100 more ppl to come down and join the pit. Knowledge, hmmm what can i say about Knowledge? OH YEAH SOME LUCKY FUCKERS GOT TO PLAY THEIR INSTRUMENTS AND THE GUITARIST GOT A KISS FROM BILLIE JOE, PLUS BILLIE JOE DIDNT PICK ME FOR DRUMS AND THAT FUCKER WHO PLAYED GOT TRE'S DRUMSTICKS! Then thee infamous Basket Case, that's always a good one. When they performed "Our Lips are Sealed" ( i swear to god it sounded just like the Hilary Duff version) they girl from the Go-Go's sang a part of that and she got a kiss from Billie Joe;lucky bitch. During "King For a Day" Billie Joe danced in a feminine sorta way (i liked it) This was surprising but it was gettin kinda old but they played a song by the Network. Supermodel Robots to be exact and Billie Joe kept saying "oh they are ex-friends of mine", oh ok Billie Joe stop lying. Then somebody requested "Dominated Love Slave" so Billie Joe presented Tre and Billie Joe drank some beer splattered it on the drums and when he started playin it had this cool effect. Tre actually sand "Like a Rat Does Cheese" first. They left, then came back for an encore and sang "When I Come Around." Then last but not least they sang the classic Queen song, "We Are the Champions" That was great everyone had their lighters up and they were waving their hands and stuff. I was dissapointed they didn't sing "Waiting" but oh well.

This was the best concert I have EVER been to and hopefully I get to see them again on tour this year but unfortunatly their going on tour with New Found Glory:( I will try to play drums for "Knowledge" next time. Thanks for reading my review. I know it's a bit overdue so bye for now!!!!
