Me and my aunt got there at about 7:00 and we saw the last few songs of the band Rise Against. They were okay, I liked one song that they played. Then about 15 minutes later, Jimmy Eat World came on... I'm telling you, in my opinion they are not very good live. When they did their song Work, they sounded sharp. But who gives a fuck, I knew who damn well I was there for.
Then... About another 15 minutes after Jimmy Eat World, the pink bunny came on stage and everyon started doing the fucking YMCA. Boy, that bunny man... And since they didn't have the screens on at the that time, it was a little hard to see what was going on after the whole YMCA shit, but other then that, he was fucking hilarious.
Then... The 2001 Space Odyssey them came on and... OH MY FUCKING GOD... Billie Joe came out followed by Mike and Tre. They sang American Idiot and the crowd was SERIOUSLY going mad... Everyone started chaning "BJ BJ BJ BJ". I think Billie has something for New Jersey. Jesus of Suburbia they played after that along with Holiday... Hahahaha. He said the whole "This song isn't anti - American it's anti-war" shit and after he said "war", everyone started screaming their asses off. That was great... And everyone did have a good time. These guys in back of me took their shirts off and one of them ran down the asile during American Idiot, and the other one screamed out "BILLIE JOE I WANT YOU TO HAVE MY BABIES!!" That was great. Then of course Billie Joe started talking about how long they have been a band... 16 1/2 years guys, and about some other random shit.
Then, during Hitchin' A Ride... He had everyone start chanting "Hey ho" and "Ohhhh" and Ahhh" then, yes people... Billie Joe masturbated. He started touching his cock then his hands just lost control and went inside his pants. And again, the kids in the back were like "He's insane and crazy man", but I don't give a fuck!!
He also switched alot of guitars during the set... He went from I believe his white one, to Blue, then to another black one, where at that moment he picked out the people for the band. Whenever Billie Joe would come up to a person, he would be like "You swear to God you can play?" Then the person would say for how long and then Billie Joe would say "GET YOUR ASS UP HERE!" The band he thinks is the best band that he has ever had come up on stage. The bass played had to do a stage dive, and after he did the dive, Billie Joe stood by his mic and put his hand to his forehead to see where the guy landed. He was cute last night... Anyway, the girl who played guitar of course got to keep it. HE HUGGED HER!! And I think kissed her on the cheek also.
Then sometime around there Billie Joe introduced everyone in the band, Mike, Tre, Jason White, the other Jason, and the other dude who I think his name was Ron or something along those lines. Then, he first introuduced himself by saying that he was George W. Bush, and everyone was like "BOOOO" then he said, "NO, my name is Asshole!" What a cutie. Then, I think after the whole King For A Day and Shout thing (he mooned the crowd there.. Then started fucking the floor), they did Wake Me Up When September Ends and he had everyone take their cell phones and lighters out. He also dedicated that song to everyone in the hurricane attacks. And I was good... I DIDN'T CRY!!! Then during the solo, sparks illuminating like rain fell in the background, and it was great. Again the dudes in back of me were acting nuts and they were like "I LOVE YOU MAN I LOVE YOU TOO!"
Then, they did Minority (time to get happy again) BILLIE PLAYED THE HARMONICA!!!, then left to go back stage, making everyone think that it was over, then came back out and did the encoure. Again, they did We Are the Champions... And it kicked ass. Then Billie Joe stayed out afterwards to play Time of Your Life... THE ELECRTIC VERSION!!
I must say... Green Day has to be the best live band out right now.. Billie Joe seriously knows how to work a crowd. If you are going to see a concert, See Green Day!!!
