Des Moines, IA Wells Fargo Arena, September 16th, 2005
The Green Day concert Saturday night was unbelievable! It was the best day of my life! My friend and I had waited over six months, and finally the day came. We were so excited. When we first got there we had to wait for the doors to open for about an hour. Then they finally opened. While we were waiting in line, some people were walking back; they had gotton kicked out for having cameras, so my friend and i decided to get rid of ours. After that we went inside. We waited for about a half hour in line to get t-shirts. Once we got into the arena we had to wait about 20 minutes. Jimmy Eat World then came on. They were okay, but I didn't know many of their songs
After Jimmy Eat World was done we waited about a half hour for them to get GD's things set up. Then finally the lights went out and the Space Odesey came on. My friend and I went crazy! Green Day came out and did American Idiot! It was amazing live. After that they did all of Jesus of Suburbia and Holiday. During Holiday, instead of saying 'the repisentative of California has the floor' they said, 'the repisentative of Iowa has the floor!' It was soo cool, and of course, they dedicated it to George W. Bush. Then they did their other songs.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Before Green Day came out, there was the pink bunny. The bunny was halarious. He came out onstage and chugged about 3 beers. After each beer he would throw them out into the audience. They also pulled about 6 people from the crowd on stage. Two kids got to squirt water at everyone, and 3 people got to make a band. One girl said she could so Billie pulled her on stage but she culdn't so he kicked her ass off stage! One girl got to keep the guitar. She was so lucky! And the boy he played the bass got to crowd surf.
WMUWSE was so beautiful. Everyone had thier lighters and cell phones. We Are the Champions was really pretty too. The encore was really neat!! It sucked how they ended with Good Riddance though. Of course, Tre also came out and did his song, it was so funny! The Green Day concert was so amazing. If you've never been to one you need to get your ass to one!
