Tacoma, WA Tacoma Dome, September 25th, 2005

We arrived at 10 AM and were second and third in line, there was a girl before us, Joy. Very nice girl. More people started to show up and at about 2 PM there were about 25-30 people.

*Rule of any concert... If you are going to head to a Green Day concert, but you don't want to wake early but still want close up availability without fighting the crowd, always meet up before school lets out.*

The Tacoma Dome was sold out so more and more young girls with their moms and young couples, and big groups of teens started to show abour 20 minutes or so before they let gates open.

They let us in at 6:30 PM and the show started at 7:30 PM. Jimmy Eat World did a very lovely job. People don't give them enough credit but they did have alot of energy and performed very well.

Green Day came out with a real rush of pure energy. They like being in Washington and always put on a great show. The pyrotechnics were awesome. I felt heat quite a few times. Billie Joe really worked the crowd and I think he enjoyed it. The lightbulb signs that flashed Green Day and other pictures were an aweosome addition to the set. He did the masterbation skit where he moaned and went inside his pants, he humped the floor, we got alot of the older songs tonight, I guess he sensed that the crowd was more Old skool Green Day fans.

We got "2,000 Light Years Away", "St. Jimmy", "She", "LongView", "King for a Day" skit with the humping floor thing, Tre Cool did his masterbation song which I screamed "I masterbated to all of you in 96..." then when they came to the Knowledge cover, they pulled my boyfriend's cousin to play bass, and he flung out his tie and I know have Billie Joe's Black/Red/and white stripe tie...he's probably got 20 of them... They did Queen's "We are the Champions" and tons of red, white, green Green Day confetti was everywhere. Billie closed with "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" and it was quite a site of just him and the floor around him lit, lighters in the air, and he plays it just by himself... I saw people crying. I got a little teary myself... They put on a hell of a show and knew it.

I think the best seat of the house, if you're a Billie Joe or Tre Cool fan would be on the left corner between the catwalk and the stage. If you like Mike then on the right corner you should be.

On a more "non Green Day related issue with this concert is arena venues". One thing I have a problem with arena venues, teenagers, children, people who don't regular attend concerts don't have concert manners. What's with the elbows and girls who get pulled out after 10 minutes of the opening act? If you know you can't handle the pressure or are going to be a dick to others becaused they happen to be pressed next to you, get sitting seat tickets, not GA. I had girl after girl being pulled out because they couldn't take getting squished.
