Tacoma, WA Tacoma Dome, September 25th, 2005
I went to my first Green Day concert. Really it was my first ever concert and it was the best day of my life!! Ok I arrived at the Dome at about 12:00 in the afternoon and I was just beside myself. You have NO IDEA.
When I got in line there were about 15 or 20 people ahead of my friend and I. But we waited and waited and waited. It wasn't really all that boring waiting in line because you could tell others were getting bored so people started throwing books and food in the line! It was great fun. There were even guys walking up and down the line selling mini pizzas for there pizza company!
But anyway! About the concert! Well they finally let us in at around 6:30 and my friend and I ran to get our tickets in and to get up front. Of course the security guards were yelling at us to walk BUT IT'S GREEN DAY! I'm sorry but I'm not slowing down! But we finally got there and we got right up front and I was just too excited. Then we waited and waited and waited some more!!!
Then Jimmy Eat World came out on stage and they were good and all but I just really wanted to see Green Day! So my eyes were wandering while they were playing and I looked over in the off stage area and I saw Tre Cool!!! I am dead sure that I was the only one that saw him but I got REALLY excited and told my friend. She got excited to! But he saw me looking at him and I smiled and he smiled back at me! It was so cool!
Jimmy Eat World got done playing and we waited for a little bit and then the pink Green Day bunny came out on stage and chugged three beers! He danced around and touched himself and it was just great fun. Then Green Day finally came on! As soon as they hit the stage the crowd shoved forward so hard that both of my feet came off of the ground. It hurt just a little! But I was going to tough it out because I'd do anything for Green Day!
Well they opened with American Idiot and they did it so well. They played a lot of great songs that I loved so much! Billie Joe came out on the little walk way thing and touched a lot of peoples hands, including mine, and I was just insanely happy. Then they went and sang more songs and Billie Joe came by again! This tim ehe looked at me and held my hand and sang about 2 or 3 seconds of the song to me. I was so happy that I got tears in my eyes!! It was the best day ever!!! Tre sang his All By Myself song and pretended to masturbate with the microphone. That was entertaining! Mike Dirnt came on the walk thing and I got to touch his hand and his bass! That was really great!
But the show went on and it was all great. From Billie Joe feeling himself up and putting his hand down his pants to him spraying the crowd with a squirt gun. It was the best day of my life and I hope to do it again some time real soon!!!
P.S. I got lots of the confetti that was shot out during Good Riddance! And even if you don't like Green Day. GO TO ONE OF THEIR SHOWS!!! I am not even kidding you, you will love it. They are THAT good!!!
