Drive

So here's a show about illegal road-racing. Of course there's a prize at the end such as money. They have to go through these check-points and stuff. It's not exactly what you'd expect out of a normal illegal road-race though. There's no girls hanging off of cars with NOS and awesome spoilers on their cars. Not anything at all like Fast And The Furious. It's completly different as a matter of fact. Mystery surrounds the whole race, and no one knows who to trust.

The plot goes as following: Alex Tully (played by Nathan Fillion) has his wife missing. Then all of the sudden, he recieves a phone call telling him to report to this place in a car or truck, no taking bus, taxi, plane, or anything like that. Sadly, he doesn't know what he's in for. He takes his crappy landscaping truck and drives it, not knowing what the future had in store for him.

Next thing you know, he's at the area he was supposed to go, and many people are leaving the room he's supposed to go in. He missed the race orientation. A man inside promises him a prize of $32 million, and getting his wife back if he wins the race. Here's another problem: all the people that had passed him before were his opponent racers. He runs out to his landscaping truck, being followed by a strange man. Later in the race, more people are introduced, but have less information about them. On the highway later, a man tries to ram Alex Tully off of the road, and pulls out a gun. A woman in the back of Alex Tully's truck claims to have broken up with the man and he's upset. Later, Alex learns the woman's name is Corinna and she actually stole a memory drive from that man, who works for the people that organized the race. She claims that the races ending point is on the memory stick.

Meanwhile, other racers have problems of their own. Two brothers who have never met before met for the first time, and team-up in the race. A teenage girl's father is dying from a terminal illness, a woman tries to escape from her abusive husband, a team of teen girls, a man in the army who's wife is deleting all army messages, and more. The woman with the abusive husaband reaches the checkpoint last, and has an "elimination round". She has to kill one of the girls on the teen girl team.

Corinna reveals many secrets to Alex Tully. One of the secrets is that her parents were in the race 27 years ago and she was one of the prizes. Her parents were killed at the last checkpoint. She also reveals that she knows the ending checkpoint isn't on the memory stick, instead it's actually information of strengths and weaknesses of the other racers. Tully on the other hand tries to find out more about the inside of the race. He forces Mr. Bright (the man who apparently leads the race) to show Tully evidence his wife is still alive. A clip on the cell phone that tells check-points is showed to Tully, showing his wife being held by a trucker that gave Tully a lift. This trucker apparently works for the race organizers, as many other people do.

Tully is captured by the police. Beaten as a matter of fact into a car. Corinna goes to the police station to ask for the police to let Tully go. The officer that took Tully wasn't back to the station yet though, so Corinna had to wait. Tully wakes up in an interrogation room and is being yelled at by an officer. The officer tells Tully that he killed many people in Kentucky. Then says he was the getaway driver, who didn't wear a mask, so the offcier remembers him. After awhile, Tully confesses, and the officer let's him go, letting him have a better car then before. His old 1972 Dodge Challenger that he used to race with. He arrives with Corinna at the next checkpoint first, and all competitors are told to watch a film very closely...

So what happens next?! You're going to have to watch it to find out. Check your local listings to find out when it's on to see who wins the race. Watch the episodes so far for free here.
