Three Trends I've Noticed on GSB
After a while on GSB, I've noticed three re-occouring things.
1) GSB has been a place that I've known as somewhere that you can state your opinion, and 99 times out of 100 you won't get bashed, you'll get respected. And there are pretty much only two places that I've found that there are more bashers than accepters.(sp?)
2) When we're touching on the subject of homosexuals/bisexuals, I will clearly state my opinion. I am completely agianst both. And when I say this, and I seem to be the only one that does, I upset alot of people. Well you know what? It upsets me that we've lost all sight of morals and now accept homosexuality and bisexuality with open arms. I'm not going to come up straight to your face and say that you're wrong if you're one of the two. That's your personal choice. But if you come up to me telling me that it's wrong that I don't accept homosexuality and bisexuality, then I will tell you off. And I will flat out say that my veiws come mostly from my religion. Which leads me to my next piont.
3) I am a proud and loud Pennicostal Christian. Not the kind that will go up to random people and try to shove religion down their throaghts(sp?). Not the kind that will be rude to people and then use Jesus as an excuse for my actions. I'm apalled at the fact that people do so, and I am also apalled at the fact that there are next to no people on GSB that are Christians, or accept Christianity. I'm expected to accept homosexuality and bisexuality, but hardly anyone here can even stand the thought of Christianity?
If I've upset anyone with my pionts of veiw of the last two trends,(I see no reason that the first would upset anyone) PM me. Ask me why I think that way, or just give me your point of veiw, I'm open to anything. And if you want to bash me? Go ahead. I'll bash you right back.

I agree with you on numbers two and three however, I disagree on number one.
I've noticed many people don't let me voice my opinions without telling me how 'wrong' they are.
If a person chooses to be a homosexual that is there choice. I completly disagree with them. I think it is wrong but, I can honestly say I base that on my religion. If it's wrong in God's eyes then it's wrong in mine as well.
I am infact a Christian and at any time I'll openly discuss God and my beliefs about my religion, on here.

I disagree with you on the topic of homosexuality. But since I don't know you and you're probably halfway across the world, I'm not going to bother and argue. It's your opinion, and good on you for having the guts to say what you believe in.

Ok.. I'm going to go against the norm.
I agree
Well, Except with number one... because, well... look
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
I respect you with number two.
And number three. I completely agree.
So many people post blogs bashing christians and it's so irritating. And when I yell at them for it, they're like "No, it's my opinion blah blah blah."
There is a difference between bashing a religion and stating your opinion about it.

I would like to say to the person who wrote this blog that your opinions are fine. I'm completely 100% okay with homosexuality but I won't shun you for thinking otherwise.
Kudos to you for actually sharing your opinion.

You do realize we could very easily compare you and others like you, with your hatred of homosexuality to, when you get down to it, white people hating black people. That was ridiculous and it took years for some to learn. Some are still learning. Why do you believe everything you are told? Do you not comprehend the fact that love is love? A wonderful thing that people are turning into something awful. So by saying you strongly disagree with "gays" because of your religion are you saying that you don't mind too much when they are murdered in hate crimes? Would you stand with you "moral" friends and cruelly make fun of same-sex couples? What if your best friend was gay? Would you turn your back on them, treating them as if they had never existed? If your "religion" is telling you that God doesn't like homosexuals, that is just plain wrong. He is not here to tell us what He thinks of it. But judging on what God is supposed to be, I don't think He would hate them or call them immoral. What are morals? Hmm? What is your Bible? Nothing but a man-made story. That's all it is, a story. God Himself did not write it. Man did.

I'll be honest with you, Overused: there is no way, in heaven or Earth that I could respect your decision to not respect me. So f*ck you.

I really stoped reading after 'I am compleatly against both'

How is homosexuality/bisexuality immoral? The bible is a big, boring book that I could never get through without dying first. It has been retranslated enough so that no one knows what the original words, whether written by god or a loony were. How can you point out something about a person that they didn't choose? People don't choose to be gay, it is merely something personal inside of them that they choose to accept, a great and brave thing to do, with so many people who despise them only because of their sexuality.

Also, not everyone believes in the same religion. So why should you tell a gay person they're wrong if they don't believe the same thing? And if someone is going to hell, that's their business.
In the words of the great Carlos Mencia: "If at the rapture they separate the sinners for what they did, I'd rather be in the 'I'm Gay' line than the 'I touched a little boy' line." I think the quote goes like that...
And good luck findind a better word for trend.
Demonic., April 25th, 2007 at 08:30:43pm
And,I want to say something else.
Don't you think you're being a little biased?
Take me for example,I'm a devoted little Catholic. And I'm sure there's more Christians here.
ohmygodshutyourbutt, April 25th, 2007 at 06:41:57pm
like what Damage on Parade said. and as Lina said. I disagree =]
just_call_me_dookie, April 25th, 2007 at 06:21:50pm
And as for the bible etc. HUMANS with original sin wrote it. It was impossible to really find a human with original sin who would not take advantage of the power. I mean, the world would be under their beliefs and controls as they thought. So a lot of it is basically a guy's opinion on things millions of years ago when a lot of things were close minded based and would go against someone for who they were, so I hope you're not getting your opinion from the Bible.
RhymesLikeDimes, April 25th, 2007 at 05:42:13pm
I respect your beliefs and I hope to get the same.
Homosexuality is NOT a choice whether you like it or not, it's not. So, do you think people should be discriminated for what they're born with? How do I know this? Because I am a lesbian and extremely offended. It was NOT a choice and for the way I am, I believe I should be accepted. So right now, I don't care if you think it's an opinion, but you COMPLETELY disrespected me.
And not ALL of GSB is against christianity. It's not as much as you think. I'm not Christian, but I have a strong belief in God and a special relationship with God like no other. Really, I barely see anyone bash the crap out of christianity. Yeah, that's right, i'm a lesbian and I love God. AMAZING! -_-
RhymesLikeDimes, April 25th, 2007 at 05:28:46pm
I disagree
1) A lot of people on here will argue with you if they find something that you like that they don't like. A lot of people on here stand up for what they believe in and are unwilling to change their views.
2) I don't see why religion should affect how you look at people. Were we not told to "love thy neighbour"? Or to treat others as we would like to be treated? and even to "love thy enemies". And I'm not even that religious. Homosexuals and bisexuals are just normal people. So they might fall in love with somebody of the same sex, is that really a crime? If God made everything then God must have made homosexuals and bisexuals.
I believe that the Bible was written by four men, just random members of the public who wanted to make a book about how to live a better life in some ways. Sometimes I believe there's a God but I don't really believe in being religious. If that makes sense. But this is just my opinion.
3) A lot of people on here would accept you because you're Christian. After all, this is a Green Day site, not a site about religions. I'll accept you as a Christian but you can't expect everybody to
Especially not if you're unwilling to accept them.
So yeah..
my opinions.
:]
Mike Dirnt., April 25th, 2007 at 04:47:27pm
I disagree. A majority of this place doesn't care for anyone's opinion but their own.
