HEAVIER THAN HEAVEN ( Kurt Cobain's biography)

Author: Charles R. Cross

This one of my all time favorite books. Now even when it is Kurt Cobain's biography, its really well written, its not a study book as most biographys.
This book shows you his life, just as it was. No predjuices, or that shit. From page one it traps you with its amazing, quite simple descriptions. The author does not tries, to change your image of kurt cobain. He merely gives you a full story of Kurt' life. From his childhood, to his suicide ( everyone has theorys but facts still mantain that it was suicide.) passing through his days in olympia, nirvana and his adiction.
You dont need to be a nirvana fan, or kurt fan to really enjoy this book.
Charles made a spectacular research and this book, tells almost day by day kurt's life. One of the best things about this book is that, Charles was a fan, not a friend, not from family, nothing else, so his personal feeeling almost never influenciate his writing.
He tells a story with no veredict.
For some knowing the end, might be boring. But the amazing is what happens between, his birth and his death. Everything which leads to the end of his life. Anecdotes and storys that make very clear how perturbated he was.
Here you can see the whole story. You hear it from Kurts own words, from friends, from family, from fans, from strangers. This book will make you deeply understand him, his addiction, his marriage, his childhood. And most his beautyful mind. Its a story told from alll the perspectives, from all the points of view, which makes it the most complete.
There are parts when the book turns really hard to read, most when you realise how low someone can fall, and how similar you can be to him.
You may hate him, you may love him, that doesnt matters. In the end this book just gives you his life, for you to judge, cry, hate or love.

An advice: do not judge until you finish it.

For the fans: you'll love it, but you might get a big desilusion, if you dont remember that there are no heroes.

For the rest:
If you felt indiferent about him, you will change your mind. If you love him or hate him, you should really read this, and see what you think in the end.
