Oh, Get OVER It!
Sometimes when I read the "GSB Awards" thread, I want to shoot myself. Often times, I read it to humor people who are asking for votes or "dropping in little hints." But, man! Some people can just be desperate. Over an award on the INTERNET? Jeez people. Get a grip.
Personally, I think that dropping hints is worse than asking for votes. Because there's a way you can portray yourself in a way so it SOUNDS like you don't really care about the word, but by the way you phrase it, people would be inclined to vote for you. Totally intentional and conniving, really. It's that simple way of saying, FOR EXAMPLE, "you know, I worked really hard on my profile last month and I feel really good about it, but I'm glad for the person who won." Why would you talk about your own profile when you're congratulating someone else? I've seen some people do this. Annoying... It's just a sneakier way to ask for votes.
And then there's the friends. Tell your friends you want to win Best Newbie or something, obviously they vote for you. But then your friends tell their friends, and pretty soon there could be a whole network of people voting for you through friends. THAT'S just unfair. I can say FOR SURE I've never talked to my friends about winning Best Blogger or asked for votes, because I know that's unfair on everyone else. I can understand it, I suppose, if friends want to vote for friends for that whole support thing, but asking for a vote or saying you really want to win it, well... that practically GUARANTEES votes. Note the plural.
And what's worse? I see some people dissing some of the winners. That's so uncool. I know people who diss one of my best friends on this site for winning a certain award, and they need to chill. Who cares? And why start a fight over it? I don't get why people can't just be happy for the people who won and leave it at that. And I can't understand why people are upset over silly little GSB awards every month. It kills the spirit. But I guess you can't change other people's arrogance.
Wow, I read that over and it sounded really harsh. But people are harsh about GSB Awards, so I think I'm justified in being pissed at people's arrogance. Man, I'm gonna go listen to Blake Lewis' stuff from iTunes and post this shit. Hey, have you SEEN this guy not on American Idol? Check him OUT!
A bit off-topic, yeah. But I wanted to share that with everyone! He's like... God.

Oh, man... losing a Blog that you worked SO FRICKIN' HARD ON is unbelievable.
I had to leave my room for a second, right? And all I needed left of my Blog was the conclusion, so I copied it and I would paste it and finish it later. So, when my cousin was off the computer and I went to go paste it, I got a Myspace layout code instead.
I was PISSED, man.... Survival Guide to Squashing Rumors, all gone. I'm not even gonna bother re-doing it. I guess it was simply meant not to be posted...

That's how I felt too! When I won Best Blogger the first time, I was suddenly pressured to write, like... a bajillion Blogs. I ended up taking a three-week break. o_O It was weird, I would START a Blog, then after the first paragraph I'd get sick of it and delete it. And then when I lost an entire Survival Guide on accident, well... that was the end of that.

lol. Your Blogs this month were REALLY awesome indeed!!!
well I think I'm not gonna write a Blog for a few days.
I don't wanna post something just for the sake of it
I feel kinda pressured now to write something super douper great :cheese:

I wanted to win Best Profile
And I didn't
But I'm not that bothered because there is always next month, right?
People over react like it's the last time they could win something

xD You know, I was really proud of myself for the first few days this month! I was SUCH on a roll. Today, I was making a sequel to that "Strange Presences" one I started, and five minutes later I was like... "Uh, wait. How about NO." I need to finish it. xD

O.O
I actually am VERY unsatisfied with my blogs this months so far :/

Don't even START on feeling bad! You shouldn't be allowed to feel bad your first time winning! Not until your second time (that was for me). =) And trust me - there's gonna be a second time. I've got a feeling you'll get next month too. xD

I 100% agree. Some people are just mean. Just because you personally don't like the winner's profile or the winner's posts or something doesn't mean that other's don't either.
Great Blog.
I actually feel bad about winning.
