Strange Presences Part II
And here's the sequel to Part I. In this one, I'll be talking about all the experiences other people I know have had, to further prove my point about the existence of "strange presences." Here's one that my dad's friend had some years ago while his wife was battling cancer. She was pretty sick at the time.
He remembered the time, it was 4:37 in the morning. He went to get up for a moment, and Doris, his wife, was asleep. So he left the room and kept the door open, and when he walked into the living room, he saw Doris standing at the fireplace. He blinked, looked behind him, and Doris was asleep. He looked at the fireplace, and Doris was there too. And then she said, "You know, it's perfectly wonderful over here." He looked behind him, and Doris was still sleeping, looked back and Doris was at the fireplace. He looked back and forth again a few more times, and then the final time he looked at the fireplace, she had left. He was POSITIVE he wasn't dreaming, and he was POSITIVE that Doris was sleeping, because he could see her sleeping in her room from the living room. Two months later, Doris died at 4:37 am.
And for a few lesser ones. Back when my dad was a teenager, he always had to drive up this one hill to get to a certain place every night. He got one of those "creeped out" feelings I was talking about in the first Blog about this, and in this situation he felt an extreme degree of unrest and evil. Every time he went up that hill, he always had to turn around or get the HELL out of there, he was so afraid. One time he told a friend about it, and he drove her over there, and she felt that same "evil" presence. So, he did a bit of research on the area, and it turned out that there was a horrible accident at that hill a few years ago, and quite a few people died. My dad could never drive past that hill, he always had to leave. I choose to believe this story as well because the way he described the "presence" was similar to how I described that "uneasy" feeling I always get.
When I told my cousin about feeling my grandpa's presence around the house, she says that she can feel him around too, especially in certain places. Our rooms are right next to each other, and we feel him strongest in the hallway that leads to our rooms and the hallway that leads to my grandma's and his room. She always feels creeped out when she walks down those hallways, but in general she can sense him all around the house. My dad says he can sense something throughout the house, but he's comforted by it because he understands those type of surreal things much better than the rest of us, and he's probably the only one who came to terms with him before his death. My mom can SENSE him, but for some reason, she hears him more than feels him. You know how sometimes you think you hear your name being called out, but no one is actually calling you out? That's what happens to my mom. She told me that sometimes at work, or at home, she'll hear a low, raspy "Cath," and ask who said her name. No one does, and she's positive that the voice is his.
Here's another one that my dad told me just this morning, pretty strange. He said this moment changed his life.
It was about ten years ago, when my mom was diagnosed with Lou Gherig's (a misdiagnosis, but we weren't aware at the time), and my dad had a new boss at his job. He was really stressed out. So, he just finished having this huge talk with someone at a record store one Friday night, and as he left, something really strange happened. He told me over and over again, after I asked him about five times to make sure that it all wasn’t a dream or trick on the mind, and he was ADAMANT this was for real. So his steps seemed to be getting heavier and heavier, and then things got really weird. He felt this incredibly powerful, swooshing feeling, like he was being sucked through a vacuum. It was so strong, that he began losing his conscious thought, he couldn’t really think, and he saw everything go white. Then, he heard an incredibly loud and booming voice, but it was filled with concern. It sounds cheesy, but it said this: “I am your God/I am with you/I love you.” Then, my dad slowly felt things clearing up, and when the “white” cleared, it was twilight, no longer night, and he was still standing in the parking lot.
You can choose to believe that one or not, because it DOES sound incredibly crazy and unbelievable, but my dad told me time after time, he was POSITIVE this happened and he was NOT dreaming, because he had walked out of a store and was standing when he left. And his written account of the story is unbelievably amazing and genuine. If you're seriously doubting what my dad said, the manner in which he described this event in writing would persuade anyone. Ask Rachel (Letterbombx723), I sent it to her.
I also found a site where almost ALL of the stories are pretty much reliable. It's where people can post stories of their encounters with spirits/a higher being/things they can't explain, etc. ghosts lolz. I really don't care if anyone doesn't believe this, but I've always taken a great interest in these sort of things, and I have a firm belief that somehow... spirits return to earth, sometimes to look after us, sometimes to make amends with people in their lives, sometimes both. I'm USUALLY a type of person who needs concrete evidence in order for me to believe something, but there's been so many of these type of occurrences and "coincidences" in my life, that they couldn't be a trick of the mind or my imagination. So, it's up to you. What do you think? Do you believe in these type of things, or do you believe that what's dead is dead, end of story?
An amazing account of "seeing spirits." If you can't believe this, you won't believe anything.

I have always believed in the paranormal, ghosts, aliens, etc.
I bought a book full of encounters called "Hot Chocolate For The Mystical Teenage Soul" ages ago- actually my Mom bought it for me. I can honestly say when I was having my panic period about death last year that it was a true comfort.
I have a story too. One of my mother's friend's father died some time ago, and my mother's friend saw his "ghost" at the funeral! She says he was standing next to the coffin- but apparently, he was young again!
I am now going to look through that site. It looks very interesting...

I totally forgot about this, until I started reading that last linky. But, over a year ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and had a really odd feeling like something was watching me. Like, it felt as if somebody was standing right next to my bed, watching me.
It didn't make me feel scared though. It was actually really calming.
But now that I think back on it it's kinda scary. o.o
