Scene Kids, the latest breed?
We've had (have) Emo, Goth, Punk, Prep etc.
But It this latest wave being controlled by myspace and hair extensions?
As all you myspace people have seen there are the Scene Kids.
Ruled by self proclaimed 'Scene Queens'. Such as:

Audrey Kitching.

Kiki Kannibal
and

Jeffree Star.
Are these girls (Or boys) just people with to much make-up and bright hair colours or have they exposed the world to something new?
Scene kids are people that enjoy embracing crazy hair cuts, facial piercings, Hello Kitty Gloomy Bear and Hardcore dancing.
They praise people like J-Star and Audrey.
Have they become the "New" emo?
I have heard friends of mine saying 'Pssh, that girl thinks she's such a scene kid, look at her eyeliner!' people hate them already.
I think they give people (Girls, mainly) a false veiw of beauty.
Photo-shopped images, no one with real hair.

Stacks of make-up.
Not only this, they enjoy casual sex, drinking and drugs.
Is this something the youth of today should be looking up too?
Personally, I think no one should look up too this.
It's a fake world parioded (sp?) with fake things.
I do think the girls are beautiful, yes.
But you need to be aware that there are alway darker sides to things.
I'm not taking a stab at the scene community, don't get me wrong here people.
And if you consider yourself Scene, it doesn't bother me.
I've met a few 'Scene kids' and they're actually lovely people.
They're not all addicted to cocaine and having sex with anything that has legs.
But, what's your opnion?
Love them or hate them?
Good or bad?
For better or worse?
Thanks.

I think Audrey and Kiki are cool. And I dress a bit 'scene' myself. I think it's a cool style and I see no reason to hate it. But I do agree with the 'false beauty' stuff. There are "real" scene kids too, be sure [:

I'm so f*cking over scene kids. They all f*cking think they're something special, because they consider themselves and the music they listen to, to be "underground," and, as they would lead you to believe, that "underground," pseudo-credential automatically means they know more about music than you do.
They're f*cking music snobs.
My boyfriend works at one of the local "underground" music venues and I'm sick of seeing them all the time. Personally, I feel that they are hypocritical; they all seem to have some kind of personal agenda to be "original" and "individualistic" and in reality, none of them are. They all conform and adjust to fit the standards of their stereotype and it's completely contradictory to what they oh-so firmly believe in. They're not creating anything new. They look like old New York Club Kids. It's been done before.

Not b*tching about eyeliner.
But, it's something the scene kids use.
It's just an example.

The picture of they eye was showing a shotty photoshop job.

I agree with you, honestly. I ranted about scene kids a while back. I think they all look the same. They think they're so original... but in reality, it's damn near impossible to tell them apart.

Why are you acting so judgemental? If they enjoy photoshopping pictures and wearing lots of make up, who cares? Last time I checked, eye liner wasn't a weapon of mass destruction.
Kurtni, June 6th, 2007 at 04:19:20pm
I really dislike Jefree Star, but whatever..
You're right that some of those ~scene kids~ aren't the best people to look up to.. but teenagers never cared about that. xD
rollerpig, June 6th, 2007 at 11:33:05am
I turned into a complete b*tchy vain scene kid
My best friend copied me and now she is too
We got to the point where we can't even live with each other anymore
I've seen the error in my ways; I've gone from one extreme to another.
I had to go to counselling cos I had no self esteem then I just had too much!
Tbh most "scene queens" are just silly little teenagers with sh*tloads of make up and photoshop
Half of them you don't even recognise off MySpace
Cos when you go to shows and stuff you're like "Ewww they really look like that?"
They get zits, bad hair days and everything else the rest of us does.
I don't really think they're anything beautiful or special tbh, cos they all look like clones of one another and would be nothing without extensions, make up or photoshop.
SkittyOhGadz, June 6th, 2007 at 11:27:39am
I don't see the big fuss over Jeffree Star.
But I wear quite a bit of eyeliner anyway.
I don't see the problem with eyeliner
Mike Dirnt., June 6th, 2007 at 11:14:03am
I'm slightly scared of what teenagers are turning into tbh.
I personally think half of them have more money than common sense as to what they're doing to themselves.
