Icky Thump

"Icky Thump" is the newest album by The White Stripes. It is by far the best album The White Stripes have ever made. It's the 2007 album of the year, no doubts. No other rock band can compare to how great The White Stripes are right now, they're at the highest point of their career and have made their ultimate album. No band will make an album better than this for a long time.

"Icky Thump" is track 1 on the new album. It's the perfect song to start off the album. Jack White plays an amazing mix of the guitar and keyboard in this song. The lyrics are extremely catchy and it's great song to have stuck in your head all day.

"You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)" is next in line. This song sounds like a southern rock song. Which makes sense, they're from Tennessee. This takes nothing away from the album though. It adds depth to the cd. The guitar is pretty sweet on it too.

"300 M.P.H. Torrential Outpour Blues" is the third song. This song is pretty good, personally it's my least favorite song on the album, but it's not a bad song. There's many other songs on the album that are better than it. You can't take anything away from the awesome lyrics that were put into this song though.

"Conquest" is track 4. This Corky Robbins cover song adds a very nice touch to the album and is great treat. Jack and Meg do a fantastic job in this song. It features a pretty amazing trumpet part. It's a great song.

"Bone Broke" is the fifth song on this great cd. Everything about this song is great. The guitar, drums, and lyrics are all perfect. It's the perfect "Number 5" song.

"Prickly Thorn, But Sweetly Worn" is number 6. This song is very creative. It's got some bagpipes in it. Reminds you of good old Scotland. A great song to get up and start dancing like a fool.

"St. Andrew (This Battle Is In The Air)" is the seventh song. The previous song goes right into it. These songs pretty much go hand in hand. They're very similar and both very creative. Meg White sings this song. This song marks the "midway point" of the album. Every song up to this point is really good, but all the songs after it are amazing!

"Little Cream Soda" is the number 8 song. This song is amazing. It's got some nice heavy guitar in it. Lyrics are outstanding. This song is arguably the best White Stripes song ever.

"Rag and Bone" is the ninth song. Jack and Meg both sing in this song. This song made me laugh the first time I listened to it. On some parts the song itself stops and Jack and Meg talk to each other. Some of the stuff Jack says is very funny. The song itself is great. The drums and guitar go together very nicely in this song. The lyrics are awesome as well.

"I'm Slowly Turning Into You" is track number 10. The guitar in this song is very similar to the guitar in "There's No Home For You Here", a song on one of their previous albums "Elephant". The guitar is one part of that song repeated over and over, it's not the exact guitar part. Jack and Meg both sing in this song as well. The lyrics of this song are absolutely fantastic.

"A Martyr For My Love For You" is the eleventh song. This song has the best lyrics to any love song I ever heard. It's a very sad love song. This song has the best drum part on the album too. The guitar part is also very good. Just some all out amazing lyrics in this song.

"Catch Hell Blues" is song number 12. Very cool guitar part in this song. It gets kinda heavy at some parts. It's the perfect song to be right before the final song. It's metaphorically the set up man in the 8th inning, getting the game set up for the closing pitcher in the 9th inning.

"Effect and Cause" is the final song of the great cd. It's got some very sweet lyrics and a sweet guitar part. It's a very catchy song. It's the perfect song to sing at Karaoke Night. Using the same type of metaphor from the previous song, it's the great closer in the 9th inning. It's a great song that closes out the best album of 2007.
