Pull the Pin, and throw in some "Light Grenades"
Released in November, hitting number one in the Billboard Top 200 in the first week of sales and going gold in the U.S. soon after, this is Incubus's sixth album.
Tracklist includes the following:
1. Quicksand
2. A Kiss to Send Us Off
3. Dig
4. Anna-Molly
5. Love Hurts
6. Light Grenades
7. Earth to Bella P1
8. Oil & Water
9. Diamonds & Coal
10. Rogues
11. Paper Shoes
12. Pendulous Threads
13. Earth to Bella P2
Incubus has managed to take in a wide variety of musical genres with ease, making each new album with somewhat of a new and different sound or feeling. "Light Grenades" takes on a lighter, yet cliched tone a bit different from their previous albums. Dealing with love, friendship, and change etc. The album starts off with a calm, zen like mood to a slighty rougher feeling as well as feelings of urgency, confusion, joy, hope and the like. The album has many notable songs, the first being "Quicksand" gives off a sort of chanting chorus and the mood of a calm, meditative state as well as some intelligent lyrics, "Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand." . "Anna-Molly" sends in the feelings of isolation and helplessness while the song "Dig" shows us that we are not alone and "we'll always have each other...". All in all, Light Grenades is one of my favorites much more than their previous. Getting better and better and creating new sounds and feelings with each new album!

I do really love Light Grenades, but I honestly don't think they've made an album as good as Morning View. Some of the lyrics on it are just, well... lame. I mean 'love hurts, but sometimes it's a good hurt' . No thanks, it sounds a bit like emo-by-numbers lyrics. But then I guess in a way the lyrics can be pretty cute (:
