Lets never forget that patriot is still not a synonym of fascist
In this days when almost every American has a TV, and most newspapers arrive home, its time to wonder if we are actually watching the whole truth. Or maybe the media has just become a way to entertain.
Maybe this you turn on the TV and watch nothing but shows, and comedy.
Assuming this is the situation we might very well say that we are just ignorant people because the media does not gives us anything else.
However the truth is way worst. At this point Fox News can choose what to put on air. Not really caring of its importance, but caring merely of those who will see it as a good american channel.
Taking a simple example, October of 2006, in Columbia university the lider from Minute man was a guest not to debate,but to give a conference.
As we all know this is an razist organization, and by razist I mean they fight to make lationamerican people as terrorist, as a danger to the country. I make this definition clear because most people find that an inmigrant should be treated like they had no rights and still claim to not be razist.
In the Columbia Campus there was a manifestation, a pacific manifestation organized by students.
In some point of the conference it was clear that most of room opposed to this conference.
So what did they do? The man giving the conference changed his methods and made agressive comentarys. You may wonder why? If almost everyone was trying to stop the conference. The answer is simple to create something that media could use. He tried with all the methods he could to turn the pacific manifestation into something very different. The students made their way to the platform, and took it. While waving a sign that read: nadie es ilegal. (No one is ilegal). But of course this man was not alone a small group of students had invited him. The same students that using the force tried to get the manifestants out of the platform. Yes there was a struggle and a fight, small by the way.
The amazing thing is how Fox news made it look like, and the headlines of most republican news papers read something like: The expression rights of this man were not respected.
May I remember you that he was trying to convince people that latinamericans were a danger to the country. Fox news showed the struggle only. They interviewed the conferencist and the students who invited him only. No one heard the other side. And Im not saying that the manifestants had to use that ways to stop it, even when they were provoqued.
What worries me is that half of the world got one version, nothing objective, or from the other side. Obiously it was a very parcial new.
The real point Im trying to make here is that all this televison corporations, all this chains have one common interest looking good and patriotic to their goberment.
Patriot is a person that loves his/her country and tries to make it be better.
This is a definition that has been exploded by many important characters. Lets not forget that a place where people are obligated to share their political opinions with the goberment in order to assure them good, would be fascist place.
Tv chains cant do alot when if they disagree they are put out off air. So yeah this days is the fear of being fired what brings us the media shit.
Id like to quote a fragment of shakespeare’s Julious Cesar.
“ The blame is not in the stars but it lays in our hands”
Which takes me to the next part:
This days us the young people are more worried about consuming, cuz god knows in America anything can turn into a massive product. Even Ideals. And let me tell you I love America, but I love the America where freedom is not a crime.
How uncongruent do you find, the fact that most young ones mostly the ones who claim to be their own person, have the same unconsistent ideas? A simple example is that they all claim to be against poberty, and when an event like Live 8 that could change many lifes, they cant even sign the request to G8 for exterminating poberty. Their usual answer is: They could have asked for money and it would be more helpful.
Just after that they claim that money is not the important thing.
In personal opinion a voice can do way more than any kind of money, seems Bob geldof thought the same. Money is not what moves the world its the greed. We could turn this world around.
My point is that this generation disagrees or agrees with something just because that what they are taught to do.
The apple never falls away from the tree. If this means that we are damned to be like our parents and teachers and never think for ourselves, and If this is truth. Then we already lost.

Im not saying that they should put somethingelse I am merely remarking that they didnt and that makes a difference sure everyone chooses but when all media gives you is bullsh*t must ppl just go with it, and lets be truth not everyone is taught to choose, the thing that I may have forgot to add was that some students did wanted to interview the protestants so it would go to the papers both sides but that request was denied

You were just complaing about what someone chose to broadcast on the news, it's their freedom to choose that, then you say you love the America where freedom is not a crime. You can't have it both ways. "I don't think they should broadcast that... but I want freedom" Its contradicting itself. And what do you base your opinions on? Things you are taught... everyone is taught things, how you chose to understand what you are taught is really up to you, and you alone. You can choose to be influenced negatively by media like the example you gave, or you can choose to see how biased it was. You can't blame the media for the choices people make.

This generation isn't taught to disagree or agree with what they are taught, they just don't give two sh*ts. That's the problem. That's also the reason why monkey-brained presidents like George Bush are given action to run our country.
I swear, in a number of years, i'm running for president.
