*le sigh* That 'emo-kid' stereotype.

You know, the dark kid who wears skinny jeans and one red high-top and one black one. The kid who doesn't talk but when you can coax words out of them is so deep as a person, its scary. The one who's got that hair-in-the-face hairstyle so bad they can barely see through it. The kid who may or may not slit their wrists.

God, I think they're gorgeous. Why do they always look so good?

I grew up in the 'country', half an hour outside of my town. I was raised with people who dressed in Old Navy and The Gap, who were always perfect, did their homework, never got arrested and never went to bush parties. I was at a school that went from kindergarten to grade eight. Until this year, when I started grade nine, I had yet to see the so called 'odd' person, the one who was different from everyone else. Coming from a country school where there was no one nessicarily dark like that. I suppose I was the class 'emo/goth/punk kid' because I realized that I like other things than what everyone else did. They liked pop, I liked alternative stuff like Green Day and Billy Talent. But I'd never seen someone wear skinny jeans and eyeliner.

The first full day of Grade Nine, I met this one kid and was blown away.
By the 'emo kid'. Gosh. I was/am head over heels for the kid who dresses so far from the norm of Abercrombie and American Eagle. The kid who was okay with who he is and knows he's different.

Why do I like the so-called 'bad boy'? He's breaking the imaginary rules that keep society in check. He'd strayed away from everything I knew to be okay, and I like it.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Laa laaa, I love that Emo Kid.

Tah Tah For Now,

R-Starr;

*- name changed to protect the gorgeous.
