Sexism?
(This is going to sound really unintelligent but is sexism a word? Just writing "sexist" didn't seem right, because you use that when you're accusing someone of being it)
There are many things that are sexist in our society and I could bore you all with a very long blog about women's rights, but I won't.
Today we're focusing on teen pregnancy (and a bit of teenage sex). For most of my life I've looked down on teenagers who get pregnant, because of the very innocent lifestyle I live is very different from theirs. But recently I've been thinking...why is it bad?
A lot of teenagers have sex. Some people look down on it, and some don't. A lot of guys pressure girls into having sex to. Then if the girl gets pregnant she's automatically a whore. Sometimes the father of the baby will freak out and run. He doesn't get a label. He's allowed to call her a whore even though he was the one who pressured her into sex. She's even more of a whore if has the baby, or even more if she keeps it.
Why? She didn't kill an innocent life by getting an abortion. Although getting pregnant and bringing a baby into a life with no love isn't the best thing to do (Sometimes it's not their fault, the contraception may have stuffed without them knowing) she still didn't do anything wrong. She went through getting kicked of home, losing all her friends, the pain and getting called a whore.
The guy goes through nothing.
I just read this on MySpace and I feel disgusted:

This Woulda Never Happend If The Rubber Hadn't Tore!!
It says the mum is a whore, but what about the guy? Although this obviously isn't real it's one of those MySpace bulletins, someone in the world wrote it and implies it's all the girls fault because it was her who got pregnant.
Which brings me onto my closing line:
It's cool for a guy to score with a lady (regardless if she gets pregnant or not) but if a girl scores with a guy, she's a whore.

A girl in my year group [I'm in Year 10] recently had sex with her Year 9 boyfriend.
This caused a riot as she accused her friends of being 'lame' or 'uncool' for not losing their virginity yet.
I think that's bullsh*t, she would still be a virgin if she hadn't had had sex that one weekend.
I mean, she can do what she wants, but when she starts teasing and looking down on other people, that's where she crosses the line.
(and yes, sexism is a word, just like racism/ageism/etc)
