My friend need some serious help.
My friend Chantelle hs problems with self image.
I recognize that everyone does, but she has it majorly.
On days when she's not at school, she spends most of her time infront of the mirror.
During her time infront of the mirror she re-applies her makeup multiple times, washes her face multiple times, and just stares at herself and takes of mental note of every little problem.
Example: There's a pimple on the side of my nose, and one in my hairline that i cover up with my hair, my eyebrows are un-even. There's a wrinkle in my shirt and my eyeliner doesn't look EXACTLY like it did when I put it on two minutes ago.
And then she won't want to do anything for the rest of the day, because she claims that she's not pretty enough to go out, when she's actually the PRETTIEST person i know.
If she's not wearing at least ONE designer peice of clothing, she will not leave the house because she claims that she looks like crap.
If she finds one problem wrong with herself, wether it's an unnoticable pimple on her face, or one stray eyebrow hair, she completely freaks out. She'll either start crying, or run around looking for a mirror.
Whenever she talks to people, she often covers her face, because she thinks that she is the ugliest person in the world, when in reality she is the prettiest and skinniest girl in our class and all of the girls hate her because all of the guys want her.
She's always going to the mall and stealing make-up and cleaning products because her parents won't give her money for it, or she'll just steal the money from her parents, and then ask for more money from them. And when they don't give her money, she claims that: They want her to be ugly, so they won't give her the money for make-up; when in reality, they don't have the money to give her, because she steals it all.
And by now you might be saying, "She doesn't have a mental dissorder, she's just a shallow stuck up b*tch!" Well, she's not. She REALLY wants to fix this problem. But at the same time, she's afraid that if she does fix it, she'll be "ugly".
I have NO FREAKING CLUE how she gets away with thinking that she's ugly.
All I know is that, this whole "problem" is ruining her relationships with friends, and is damaging her family.

I saw something like this on TV, it is an actual condition. There are alot of people like her, i suggest her seeing someone about it.

To be completely honest, I am surprised her parents haven't picked up on this behaviour and done something about it. As for the shoplifting, she's playing a numbers game and will get caught. But I agree with Green.Day1333 it sounds like she has body dismorphia disorders. She needs professional help, there is little school councillors can do for this disorder.

She does need help. This is a serious problem and it's only going to worse if she doesn't get help.

Wow, she has SERIOUSLY distorted self-image. The only way she can over-come this is with councelling. I've never heard of someone so... obsessed with this stuff, to the point of not going outside because of something like an eyebrow hair out of place. If she won't take the advice of going to see a councellor, then... well, tell someone and try to bring the councellor to HER, like Sid Loves Nancy said.. A school councellor or something. =\

=\ wow. i know exactly how your friends feels.
that sounds like me..except for the designer clothing part, and the stealing money.
your friend really needs someone to talk to. get her to a counciler or something,
because before you know it she'll be saying she's over weight and she'll be anorexic or bulemic..or both.
she most likely has Body Dismorphic Disorder( I have it too and it really does suck)
and it's really hard to deal with.
the most you could do for her is get her some help =\
