2008 Elections

This year is a very, very important year for me. First of all, I'm graduating from high school! I am also turning 18 in June, starting college in the fall, and I get to vote for my first time in THE most important type of election--the presidential election. So recently politics has become an important part of my life. I've always been very interested in politics and I love debating but the sad truth is I was never educated enough to lead a debate more than ten minutes long. Recently, I have been studying. I have chosen the candidate I am voting for in the March 4th primaries and in the election--Barack Obama.

Very recently Barack Obama's official website has become a frequent browsing place for me. I've really enjoyed reading about and agreeing 100% with all of Obama's views. I am so so excited for the upcoming election! We need a change. Obama is what we need right now. He will clean up the terrible mess Bush has left behind...

I'm openly admitting this blog is a bit of propaganda. I am promoting Obama, and I will most likely offend people who support Hillary or McCain. I will definitly offend people who somehow still think Bush is a good president...
But this is my right. We have freedom of speech and as long as I am telling you the truth, I can say what I want about anyone.

First of all, GW Bush has ruined America. He's led us to believe there is a point to this endless and hopeless Iraq war. He has brought down the economy. He has failed at aiding victims of natural disasters. He has tried to force Amercans out of their freedoms by pushing constitutional amendments against abortion and gay marriage. He has helped bring down schools with his No Child Left behind act. I've watched it happen, my school is suffering. Bush has let Chinese manufactuers sell the US flawed products, dangerous products. Bush has sent our jobs overseas...This has got to stop.

Obama will lead us out of this rut. There is hope for America yet...I am sure Hillary is equally capable at this feat, but Obama is the better candidate. Obama is a people person. He can realate to Americans. He is young enough to understand younger Americans and old enough to relate to older Americans. He has his plans all laid out, and he doesn't flip flop between them. He is consistant and honest. I respect him. I do not respect Hillary.

Hillary is using dirty tactics to push herself ahead and Obama behind. I have recieved two horribly constructed and false accusing anti-Obama flyers from Clinton in this past week. Hillary has openly accused Obama of false things, twisted his words. She cannot defend herself, only accuse. I do not respect her.

Some people wonder why I am so anti-Hillary when I am a woman myself. Don't I want a woman president? I do not want a president that I do not respect. I cannot respect Hillary. She has failed at representing my idea of a strong woman. She is weak and unequiped for the job of president. There is no law saying I can't be a feminist if I don't vote for Hillary.

I don't know what people on this website think of Obama, but I think he is a great man. I would be proud to have him leading my country. I'm expecting some harsh comments on this blog. That is fine. Just keep them factual and mature. No- "You are dumb. Obama sucks." comments, thank you. And don't comment me if you don't know what you are talking about. If I have made an error in one of my claims, politely let me know and it may have been a pure mistake. I will fix it...I know this isn't a political website and many people don't give a crap about this. I don't expect everyone to, there are many younger kids on here who don't need to worry about this. I am sorry if I have been offensive.

Please, vote for Obama if you are able to vote. This is an important election and it effects every person living in the United States. We are often the role model of other countries, we are the leaders. We can't be a great nation without a strong president to lead us and our followers.
