A Rant on Religion
Okay, so religion. It's pretty much what you believe. That's a good definition. And whether they want to admit it or not, everyone has one. Even atheists. Their belief is that there is no God. That's what they believe, and that's their religion.
People will go to any lengths to prove their religion to others. Well, mostly Christians and Atheists. At least, that's how it is where I'm from. I mean seriously, have you ever seen anyone fight so much as Christians and Atheists? On one side, there's a God. On the other, there isn't. Those are the rawest details.
What I hate about most Christians (I say most because I'm one of them and I'm not like this) is that they always have a bone to pick with any other religion. Like, why can't we all just believe what we want and get on with our lives?
And then there's the people who try to be all religions because they think that every religion has some truth but that they can't decide what those truths are so they just try to be everything.
What I also hate is that you never see manger scenes anymore. I mean, not even outside churches! There's these neo-yuppie liberal scumbags (as Foamy the squirrel would put it) who'll take you to coult because you're being "intolerant" or a plastic baby Jesus is "offensive" when really they're being intolerant and offensive because they're suing you for what you believe!
My belief, personally, since we're on the subject, is that whether or not God exists is up to you. As long as there's someone who believes in Him - even if scientists somehow proved that He doesn't exist - He still exists in the hearts and minds of those who follow, love, and worship Him.
Also, the reason God is letting everything get so shitty is either A) He wants to wipe out the human race because we're stupid or B) He has some sort of plan that's bigger than all of us that we can't understand.
And most of the sins that the church has come up with really aren't sins at all. Swearing, as I've mentioned before, is one of those things.
And all this shit about how you'll go to Hell if you're not straight or how gay and bisexual people are all sick is bullshit, and whoever came up with that is burning in Hell right now. If God didn't want anyone to be that way, he wouldn't have MADE US LIKE THAT.
Hope that rant made you think, or at least scratch your head (or your balls - whatever you do I don't really care) and if you want to hear me expand on any of the subjects I've touched in another blog just tell me and I will.

I hate religion...with a passion.
Christianity would have been okay to me if it was just morals and the holidays - becuase the hoidays bring people together :)
i have an unhealthy obsession with wanting to conquer and destroy the world and I'm very pessimistic. I don't know what that is but I'm athiest :dno:

Oh and also:
I believe that when the Big Bang occured, (considering then there was no humans on this planet then) that there was a natural, earlthy power that was formed. Kind of the "balances of nature" if you will. Not exactly "Mother Nature" but something like just natural occurences that helped with the process of evolution and creating species and such.
And I think that because the humans eventually came and developed a mind of greed, lazyness and pure evil, that we're destroying the earth by Global Warming (WHICH, YES I also believe is happening) and the Earth is fighting back with natural disasters, like hurricans, tsunamis, things like that. Telling us to stop destroying what it's tried so hard to create.

Okay first off: Sorry, I'm a liberal scumbag.
Secondly: Being an athiest, I do believe there's no God, it's a dumb idea to me and sorry to offend anyone. But really, I'm all for evolution and the whole Big Bang theory.
In my mind, it's really rediculous believing that one "super being" or whatever you call God could create everything on this earth. It's just not something that I find to be an intelligent conclusion to how everything was created. Sorry, but anyone could have sat down and written the bible just as easily as someone could write a fictional novel.
The main thing I have against the bible is it's cause on the powers of women. I think it's total BS the whole "Eve went against God and ate the apple after he told her not to." Okay, this is where the whole "men are better than women" began. It's offensive to me, and even today the older generation believe that women are below men.
Again, I believe in science. The Big Bang created the universe, Evolution created the species. That's what I believe and that's where I stand. Yes, sorry to say, humans (in my belief) come from monkeys, considering our DNA is 98% similar to chimpanzee's. And evolution is a theory that has been tested and is at least sensible.
I don't sit here and rant because I think religion is dumb. I don't care what religion someone has personally. But I do care when someone tries to tell me to believe it and when they try to teach it in public schools, which is also BS. What I have personally against religion is what it does to people. It makes me so unbelievably angry that someone would go and kill another person because they believe something that someone else doesn't. I can't tell you how many wars have been and are still faught today, soley becasue of religion. And it makes me mad.
So I figure it's best to just not believe any of it, and let everyone else believe what they will.

I hate those "neo-yuppie liberal scumbags ", too. My mom told me about the French Prime Minister (its either that or President..) who had his picture taken lighting a Christmas tree. Then like.. 2 hours later there was a retraction and it was called a "Holiday Tree" instead. The next day another retraction was issued, and it was changed back to a Christmas tree. What I really don't get is why the had to change it in the first place. Something about it not being inclusive enough, or being offensive. WTF?
As a Christian, I do not find it offensive if I see a Menorah all lit up. I do not find it offensive if I see people celebrating Kwanzaa. I can't even fathom how anyone would think, "Oh my gosh, there's a Christmas tree. I can't believe someone would be so INCONSIDERATE as to put one up. That is so horrendously offensive. I. Must. Complain."
I say remove that rod from your butt and get on with your life.

ok i must say... atheism is obv NOT a religion. i mean wtf? atheist believes in science. IT'S NOT A RELIGION.
i dont beilieve in religions. i believe it's something people hold on to cause they're scared. i dont believe in afterlife. i dont believe in sins.
there's no sins there's only morals. and people should look into themselves and find out what they really think is right and wrong instead of blindly following.
people whould use their common sense.

^^Damn Straight. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Yeah, on a personal note, I'm a non practicing Christian, living with an atheist father and a RCC mother.... I called myself "agnostic" for five years until I saw the light and realized I was an atheist.... pissed my mom off... but deep down, that's what I am. She can deal.
Barney Stinson, December 23rd, 2008 at 12:25:35am
Personally, I'm a non-practicing Christian.
Yeah, I believe in God and Jesus, but I never go to church because 90% of what they say is right or wrong is bull plop. Yeah, I'm not going to rot in the firey pits of hell because I like boys and girls.
I figure as long as I live my life well, as long as I'm nice and care about people, and do what I can to help out people, God will forgive me for not wanting to sit in a stuffy building being told I'm going to hell for an hour a week.
As for the religion wars, srsly, I agree. Get over yourselves and get on with your lives. So you believe different things, so what? Not the end of the world.
Good Blog
