American Society.
In today's society, in America more it seems, people are just wanting to have themselves look like... well.... skanks.
I was walking in the mall yesterday and I noticed something amazing. Every store I walked by, advertised for clothes that were tight, small, and revealing. Now I'm not saying that tight jeans are a bad thing. God knows if I was I would be a total hypocrite. And I'm not saying that we should cover everything up so we don't have an inch of skin showing or anything. But I am saying that this generation needs to learn decency. Lol I know some of the guys here are going to be all “BUT THATS WHAT WE LOOKS AT”
tough luck baby.
I mean, come on. Sure I have clothes that are questionable. But I don't dress like that for others pleasure, I dress like I do because I don't give a shit. And I'm happy with who I am. So I wanna show it off. Most of the people I see now a days are just wanting attention.
Take scene kids for example. Or those blonde little clones. Everyone looks the same. Everyone looks bad.
Who you are and how you dress should be how you are, not how you want to be or how you want yourself to be seen.
In my opinion anyway. I mean feel free to tell me what you think on this. I'm looking for input here.
But honestly I think in America, these girls are just looking for attention. And more times than not, it comes in the wrong form. Who wants to walk down the street looking like, “look at me, I'm open for business”?
I sure don't. But, The vast majority of clothing stores here. ONLY cater to those people who like to dress like that. And I find that pathetic.
People now a days are so afraid to be themselves, and i have no idea why. I mean you are who you are.... when you try and be someone you aren't.... you just become a fake. no matter how much you deny being fake.... if you are something you aren't you aren't you at all anymore.
so why dress like a clone everyday?
im honestly asking you this question. and I do want your opinion. Why do you think people do it?
what do you think the... attraction is?
in my opinion.... its getting the attention of the opposite sex. or.... for that matter. the same sex.
getting someone to look at you. notice you. and pay attention to you. and maybe just love the person you are trying to be.
i know a lot of the people i have talked to in the past think that no one will love them if they are just THEMSELVES. but thats so not true... i mean if you arent yourself, then your relationship is based on a giant lie O_O
who the hell wants that?
~sorry its so short. i just wanted to write today... and this had been bugging me for sometime now. hope you enjoy. tell me what you think. COMMENT PLEASE~

jake i agree and disagree with you.
i mean right now sure its "trendy"
but there are also people out there that are clinically depressed. that cant really help it.
then there are people (like myself in the past) that self harm... becuase they dont understand that there are other things you can do.
and there are people that REALLY dont understand what gender they are attracted to.
i myself am bi. and it was very easy for me to know this.
but there are people, people that i know even. that have no idea who they are. or sometimes even what they are.

Honestly I think this whole emo thing is a phase which will eventually and sucessfully die. I mean what the hell, it's trendy to have depression, it's trendy to self harm over bullsh*t an dit's trendy to question your sexuality.

BUT THATS WHAT I LOOKS AT!
Heheh, that make me laugh.
Persionally, I have a huge problem: I begin judging girls as hor3s before I know them if they look like a hor3. I know what you're thinking, and the answer is no, just cause you dress like a hor3, doesnt actually make you one. It just makes me (and lots of other people) think you are one. With that being said, hor3 isnt my type, and I'm more attracted to girls who don't walk around showing me their legs and half their chest.
On another note: just like what people before said, its not just America. Its all over, you just see it in America cuz thats where you are.
On yet another note:
Who you are and how you dress should be how you are, not how you want to be or how you want yourself to be seen.
Don't you want to be seen as who you are? Well, I always thought so. Mabie the people who dress sl*tty want to be like that. Hell if I know, but I'll continue to blame the media, for putting these images of sl*ttiness in people's mind and making it seem okay, and the clothing manufacturs for making cloths like that avaible.

Maybe the designers are trying to get the little girls attention ? They aren't gunna sell anything without making it seem 'hot' or whatever.
icegirl., February 28th, 2009 at 08:14:03pm
You guys need to check out the little girls clothes department - I'm taking 5-8 range. Parents do need to take a better note of what their kids are wearing, parents actually buy clothes for the younguns. Teens generally buy for themselves but hey let's be honest here, it is adults who are designing, manufacturing and selling these clothes. It is adults who are sexualising children, the kids really are just going with the flow and what is seen as acceptable.

I think it's mostly a phase. My sister is cousin is going through it at them moment.
I don't know if it's a part of growing up, or what, but I do know that some of it looks horrible.
I don't know what else to say 'cause I'm tired but yea, ily.
Nice blog.

Good blog, but it's not strictly American, though it does happen a lot here.
I hate American society. I wear long sleeves and long pants or a t-shirt with a jacket and pants that go just below my knees with knee-high socks. I don't reveal that much. And I carry around a stuffed bunny so people make fun of me until I beat them down with it. lol
But yeah. I'm f*cking sick of these little hor3s parading around like they f*cking own us! *insert me smashing something random and hugging my bunny to calm down then going for more tea and cake here*
Wow. That was a mouthfull. But yeah. Good blog.

i know. i mean, ill wear pretty much anything comfy. but gawd when you walk down the street you see these girls OF ALL AGES like, even 12 year olds. that look like sl*ts. idk, it makes me wanna hack em upside the head and get some sense into em ya know? xD
Pretty Rave Girl, February 27th, 2009 at 02:53:00pm
Hell, the ones who dress like sl*ts get treated like sl*ts O_O But I really think you're supposed to wait until you're a teenager to be an embarrassment to society, not busting out when you're still in primary school.
I don't care what I wear either, which means I live inside sweatshirts, but I care about what other people wear because when there's a ton of people all wearing the same thing it says something about our generation. >_>
Addison Dewitt, February 27th, 2009 at 10:28:32am
i don't really care how most people dress, but what does bother me is when little 9 and 10 year olds are out there with mini skirts and tube tops. it's disgusting. the parents who allow this are doing nothing more than making their child a potential target to pedophiles.
but, talking about my generation now, it seems as if we've lost all sense of self respect. :\ it's sad and frustrating. i'm happy with myself and the way i dress, so i just can't comprehend why people feel like they need to show almost every inch of skin they have to be beautiful. it's absurd.
get famous, February 27th, 2009 at 04:02:26am
xD lol yeah i had a few more thoughts.
where is it you live?
ill totally move there.
everyone loves that dress here. like people think if you dress like that, you are cool here
Pretty Rave Girl, February 27th, 2009 at 03:33:40am
Yeah I guess everyone cares about what they wear tbh, some care more than others though. I mean, I care. I don't walk outside with a paperbag on. Though, it's the 'sl*tty girls' that don't care about what they wear, if they did they wouldn't wear what they do.
I agree though. I mean, 50 odd years ago people weren't allowed to know what girls legs looked like. Now it's just like HELLO, not caring at all. I dont think it's a good look. But it's not like (well atleast where I live) dressing that way is encouraged, more like we spit in their general direction. I wonder if they ever got pulled up and told a little thing about modesty.
icegirl., February 27th, 2009 at 03:29:15am
lol thank you for commenting.
i do care what i wear... and to be honest. im not sure why i care.
but i guess im happy with who i am. and its kinda painful to see other people hurting themselves with the way they dress.
i know it happends everywhere. but im in america and i havent been any place else. so im only speaking of what i know.
Pretty Rave Girl, February 27th, 2009 at 03:21:10am
Dude, it doesn't just happen in america. It's universal. Stereotypes are just a staple to society really. You're not that bad.
Anyway, people who dress like complete sl*ts are only hurting themselves. I mean, if they can't get in their head that they are the target of creepers and perverts eyes then so be it. I don't like it, but it's not like It's my job to tell them what's wrong with it.
Anyway, you said you didn't give a sh*t what you wear, so why would you care what they wear ?
Sorry if I came out like a total b*tch then, it's what I think.
