why don't people get that industrial progress is killing us?
I don't get it.
We're supposed to be progressing in a way that helps the enviroment- yet every day I see a new petrol-guzzling car has been put on the market and we are draining rivers that are home to many animals for our own use
It's like the world has turned into a land where only people with opposing thumbs can benefit.
Scienetists are working on ways for new technology to take form when they should be working on how to stop global warming, using animals as dummies to try and cure our diseases.
The world sickens me.

You said 'progress' car's like that are not progress. Progress is what will save us, if we continue using the technology we have now, we'll only harm the enviorment even more. Draining rivers? That's a bit extreme. We really don't do that anymore, in the past we've altered rivers with damns. We drain lakes and ponds more often, which is still harmful.
People say 'Scienetist' and think of it as such a general word. There are hundreds of different fields and denominations of science. Do you think someone with the training to design cars has the same knowledge as someone studying to cure cancer? Of course not. So it isn't like you can say "ok, we need you guys to quit giving us advancements in technology, and go learn how to be biologists". Also, many cars are being designed to be more friendly towards the enviorment. It takes small steps like that to make a change.
