Mary and me

As I'm sure most people are aware, I am dating Mary (Chipmunk), and have been for the last 3 years and change. While there have been plenty up and downs, we've worked our way through them and as such are stronger from them. I am glad she's not like most girlfriends where a single fight would probably lead to a breakup. I think it's a testament to the equality of our relationship where one person isn't dominant over the other, a trait which has been evident through all men on my Dad's side of the family (them marrying dominate wives).

Anyhow enough of this senseless rambling, I am talking about my relationship, not my family. Last December I went to Pittsburgh to spend a total of 3 months with Mary at her house and as such her family are now sick of me ^_^ but apart from that it was a very good trip and I was grateful to spend as much time with her as I did. And it didn't stop there: she boarded a plane for the first time ever to come back to Australia and while she hated it here, it was an instrumental part to making our relationship stronger. Also she got to meet my family also, and though she doesn't like most of them due to Australian's being loud and rude (We pride ourselves in it), she does like a lot of my friends who are all nerds like me.

In the end the whole experience was a trial and test to see if we would get sick of each other after spending a total of 5 months, ever day, with each other. I would like to think we passed the test and our relationship still stands tall through 3 years and 4 months. Maybe an engagement is on the horizon? Perhaps next time I visit her? We shall have to see.
