Trust
I think you have to have some level of trust towards people over the internet. Yes, there is a level of unsafe-ness to talking to people over the internet. But, I believe that it's only if you have too much trust in people, and give away personal details and that.
But then you can't just block everybody out. If you have no trust towards internet people then it's no fun for anybody.
So you have to have a certain level of trust. You have to trust them just enough to be able to talk to them and have fun with them and consider them your internet friends, or as I call them "My GSB Buddies". But you also have to be a bit wary, and not leak every single personal detail about you.
I don't even know what I'm getting at in this blog. Maybe I'm trying to say that you should just treat everybody over the internet with an open mind about who they are unless they give you reason to think otherwise.

I trust very select few people on here. And even still, I can't give them 100% without knowing them in real life. Like Kurtni said, we trust people under pretty lame circumstances. However, there's some people on here I give the benefit of the doubt and trust a HELL of a lot more than others.
But if we're gonna act different to people we suspect versus people we "trust," then I find that stupid. Because, until one or the other is found out, there's no reason to trust one over the other. So I don't do anything against anyone unless it's a given fact that person is total bologna. =)

In all honesty; you have abosl*tely no idea who you're talking to over the internet, no clue at all. So really, trusting people is fairly stupid when you think about it, yet we do it anyways.

I have more internet friends then real ones most probably- but I'm very careful about who I trust.

I don't trust many people in real life.
I have more of a sense of security with internet people, because they can't really judge me, over some things i say, and they can offer advice for some problems.
But my mummy has taught me not to give out much information, name and age are all good, mum monitors what i go to, but she isn't all preachy about it.

The only people I trust on the net are the ones I've known for at least a year. Without knowing them a year, I keep my last name, and home phone, as well as my town safe.

True.
There is only about 4/5 people on this site whom I actually do "trust" though.
