Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1942 | May 27th, 2005 at 05:16am Just wondering what people felt about age gaps in relationships. I'm 15, my boyfriend is 17. My mam's fine with it, but my dad has this big issue with it and has told me I can't see him again. However, my dad's never even met him or anything therefore doesn't even know what he's talking about!
Anyhoo, I'm still with him and my mam knows, and won't tell my dad- so I was wondering other people's views on this and other age gap relationships... |

It depends on how big the age gap is. And it's not the same if you are 15 and there is an age gap of 5 years, of if you are 40 and there is an age gap of five years. But a 2 year age gap is ok. |

Maybe people just treat "adult" as one age lol |

I've heard him say "I hate you" enough times, and when he said I can't date him, that was the only time in a while i've walked into a room and he hasn't walked out of it. My mam loves me and cares, and she lets me date him? I just don't understand that. |

Yeah, but sometimes as you get older there is a less difrence with adults and you. You know what I mean? For some reason adults that have age gaps like, I don't know, 4 years can talk about something, and if there is an age gap like that between kids they wouldn't play together. I don't know why age gaps become less importaint when you grow up, but any way, what is importaint that the guy your dating isn't a jerk. Would your dad be happyer if you dated someone your age who treates you like shit? |

I had a boyfriend only 6months older than me (but in the above year at school) last year who he watched like a hawk. I mean I'd say he just doesn't want me to date, but he doesn't even care about me, so I can't help but feel it's just spite. |

It's kindda scary in my opinon. Although the younger of the couple are over the age of consent (16 in the UK) so there is no real choice, but when there under 16, it's a different matter! |

isn't that your dad ban you date with your boyfriend just because some other reason besides the age gap... cuz I think the age gap thing is just an excuse of your dad...sure i think your mom lets you date becuz she love and care you, and she understand the age gap isn't a problem! |
