 | November 13th, 2009 at 10:14am The Alliance of Evil:ive bn depressed a few times but not really anymore
whats the point?
you might as well just ask what the point of cancer or heart disease is.
depression is an illness. illnesses don't have a 'point'. it doesn't change the fact that they exist. |

It was more like scratch myself because I'm a pussy. But I did burn myself a couple times, not real bad but it did blister once or twice. Anyway, other times I have really really wanted to cut myself but never did. I don't know why. I guess because sometimes emotional pain is worse than physical pain. :/ If that makes sense. |

 | November 13th, 2009 at 04:50pm Depression doesn't always mean you're going to cut yourself, or something.
There are different acts of depression. |

You're right. Sometimes I felt perfectly fine but did it anyway. |

 | November 13th, 2009 at 06:04pm Mhm, it's really odd how it all works.
My mother explains it to me in different ways,
She works with mentaly ill people,
And depression falls under some of them. |

 | November 15th, 2009 at 02:25pm I have a question,
So....like Condongun was talking about how people fake Depression,
And just think that they're sick, right?
Well,
Even so, wouldn't that still be a mental illness?
Wouldn't that make them a Hypochondriac?
I don't know, that just came to mind is all... |

I don't know, that just came to mind is all... I wouldn't say they were necessarily a hypochondriac (although one could be), but if someone does go through the effort to fake having depression or self harms for attention, even if they're not actually mentally ill and couldn't be diagnosed with depression, they must still have some sort of problem.
If someone feels the need for attention or wants to fit in with someone that badly then they are not okay. They might not have depression but they still need help. I wouldn't call them 'sick'. |

There's something called Munchausen Syndrome where people exaggerate or create symptoms of illnesses to get attention from medical personnel.
I saw it on House. |
