John Mark Karr (the fucking perv ) killed and raped a girl Jonbenet Ramsey because girls are growing up too fast...
So her brutal death is blamed on little girls everywhere wearing skimpy clothing?
And John Mark Kar didnt kill and rape her.
Or so they say, he made the whole thing up.
He just got charged on Child Pornography.
His DNA did not match the DNA the police found.
Hopefully, they were not wrong and they did not let her killer go. ._.
Poor little girl she was beautiful ;_;
Anyway, did not exactly get what you meant when you said..."killed and raped a girl Jonbenet Ramsey because girls are growing up too fast"
cause of all the fucking beauty pagents where they make the girls look 'sexy'... as a lot of reporters say... it's just fucking stupid... but i agree that Jonbenet was a beautiful little girl. ._.
i dont know how many of you have young duaghters, i have 1 and when i take her shopping i am sickened with the amount of clothing that has somthing like "i am sweet outside but my mouth is sweeter" or "my legs are long and i can wrap them around you" i am not saying that girls deserve to get hurt when they wear somthing like that but the perants should use they're common sense and not let them wear it, and we are told today to let our girls look has grown up has they want to, also these short schools skirts that girls like to wear, right they are so short they are pulling them down all the time, why wear them if that is all they are going to do?[/quote]
because thats basically all they sell
i'm serious too
same thing happened with me and jeans - everything was low rise - ass showing pants
i can't wear them nor would i want to
but at one point i had to because thats all the stores had
yes i know thats what they mostly sell, and its disgusting, but the higer cut jeans are slowly coming back into shops now and so are the longer shirts,

I'm twelve, mature for my age. Most kids I know are right, their parents think that their growing up to fast, enjoy life when your a kid. Most kids I know my age actually have a better sense of whats going on then most adults I know. But its not about growing up fast, it's about buying expensive clothes that pedophiles will be attracted too. Like those stupid ass tops that have the sleeves but cut off and tie up around the cleavage. What the hell? Every girl in my class has at least two of them. It's like paying for two shirts, only half the material, and your just going to get hit on by sleazy old guys.
Not to mention, the whole 'live life when your a kid while you have the chance?' Personally. i'm gonna live life to the fullest all my life, but that is also half right. Their basically throwing away everything like their ability to still play hide and seek and stuff. without looking retarded. Well, I'll always play hide and seek. But what I mean is they wont play games anymore because its to childish or whatever.

I personally think that girls are growing up too fast in adults' eyes.
Times have changed. Styles are different now.
Things that people do are different now.
Things do change.
Especially in middle school. Usually in 6th grade girls are wearing like what a girl in elementary would wear. But throughout the year, they see the 8th graders and then over the summer, in some part of 6th grade or in 7th grade they go and buy clothes like the girls have in 8th grade because they are older and "cooler".
So girls usually hit the "slutty clothing" (what it seems to be to some) by 7th grade.
7th grade isn't too bad. Most girls are about 13.
They're in mid-adolesence. It's pretty much normal.
See, I find it funny that this whole thread is saying kids focus on image and clothes to much, yet thats how you are judging them, by what they are wearing. Since when do your clothes determine how "grown up" you are?

I hate how some peope say girls "asked" to be raped by the clothes they wear. :/ I mean its not that, its not young girls asking to be violated in anyway! Seriously, it scares me sometimes I get old men walking up to me and asking how old I am and trying to talk to me like...as if they were trying to get somewhere with me. o_o It the past couple of months I have been approached by a few men b/t the ages of 30-70 O_O That is no fucking joke, you may think "Oh you probably wear high heels and tight clothes." Fuck no, everytime something like that happened I was in baggy jeans and a plain T :/ and grocery shopping with my mother. And trust I dont look older than I shold if anything I look younger.

Well, clothing doesn't determine how mature you are really.
But she brought it up.
I just replied.
And growing up does seem to do with fashion, anyway.
It's a big part of a lot of lives. =\ Like staying with the styles or whatever.
That's part of growing up for the majority of girls.

I wasnt directing that at you. Im saying people were saying thats all girls cared about.. yet everyone is mocking fashion in here as if its important. What you look like is only as important as you choose to make it.
I think growing up is alot more than an image. its coming to realization with the world around you and your maturity, not the clothes you wear.

Im going to be stereotypical, but oh well, know that this doesnt apply yo everyone and yeah..
This site was made, originally for a band who was at one time/ is in the punk rock (stfu I said punk, deal.) industry. That whole "scene" has a different fashion then what alot of the girls who are being singled out in this thread as "slutty" might. I disagree that what they choose to wear makes them sluts, and I just because you dont like their fashion isnt any reason to judge them. I agree with Molly, and what she said, it comes with the age, this isnt some new big huge issue.
hmmm...we have quite the debate here...
well i think that yes girls are growing up too fast, but that may be because girls matture faster. but that doesnt make it right i guess...and the only problem i see with this is the whole dating and sex aspects...i know all about being that age, and wanting older guys and wanting to be older, but i see no point in rushing...and sex at a young age is nothing but a mistake you WILL regret...i know cause i was 15 and thats my biggest regret...you will wish youd saved it for something more, and sex can wait, its not what ppl make it out to be, unless you really love that person and are in a serious relationship, and at a young age you shouldnt be, and dont know what real love is, you may think so, but trust me you dont...
i dont think there is a problem with the way young girls dress these days for the most part...
unless they are dressing provocatively to get attention and sex and boys...which for some girls is the case...but if you just dress how you feel comfortable and in what you like go for it...but accept the looks you get with what you wear, no matter the style...people are nosy bastards, guys and girls, young and old... but girls dont dress to impress...dress for you, and what you like, and what you feel comfortable wearing, in what makes you feel like you...dont dress for others opinions and stares...
but in all i do think young girls think they can grow up faster than they should, sometimes a good thing, sometimes not...
my only advise to all you girls young and old is "BE YOU"
be who you want to be and nothing more, dont do things for others, do them for you...dont let pressure make you do things you dont want to, cause its not worth it...saying no doesnt make you any less of a person, if anything it makes you more...be real, have fun, and be happy, find what you want in life and find your way of getting it...

I think you have a really good point. Not all aspects of "growing up" are bad, some of them are great. With growing up, good and bad things come. This thread seems to focus on the negaitives, maybe because they are what we're concerned about, but I do think the postives need to be mentioned as well.

yes for sure...
growing up is a part of life, and instead of rushing, take time and enjoy life, what fun is life when you all you want is to be older...
then you get there and you'll wish you could go back and relive those happy carefree days...
well why do that and have regrets...
regrets are useless
and they way on your mind so much, i know i have many...
and i never had a carefree teenage life, cause i myself grew up too fast...
im 19 now and i feel like i didnt live those years, i was too busy hanging out with the older crowd, making myslef feel and be older...
i dont even feel 19, i still feel older and have an older mind set...
just live life...be a kid while still you can, and you will grow up, slowly, but you will get there...
and then you will look back and be like wow being a kid sure was fun, i miss those days...
and you will...
but most important...
dont loose who you are for anyone or anything...

There still is the fact that kids are growing sexually faster than ever. My friend lost her virginity at twelve, and i was pretty young too when I lost mine. It's like this everywhere in the world. And the thing is, I certainly don't regret it. Neither do any of my friends.

I think it depends where you hang out, and who you hang out with. I was always hanging out with older people, and they influenced me. I never wore anything like that, but I did get hit on, I went to clubs, I went to parties, I went to bars. My skirts were never near as high as any of the nineteen or 20 year olds, yet to be honest, yeah lots of guys dig young chicks I guess? I dunno. Can we get a guys opinion here? There aren't enough guys on GSB.
I find it very very gross that girls do that now. One of my 'friends' came to school with a major overdosage of makeup and it scared me half to death.
And I think the MAIN reason for all the innappropiate dressing and hiding who you really are with make-up is...
COMPLETELY FOR SEX APPEAL.
Which also brings up that 10 year old girls have gotten pregnant before... and that's really messed up...
Yes, make-up is okay as long as you don't overuse it. I don't wear make-up but I'm considering starting to wear eyeliner because my mom forced some on me one dad and I thought it looked cool but... yeah. That's different.
Young slutty girls = MESSED. UP.
10 year olds pregnant...wow early bloomers then...but i guess its beliveable nowadays...
yeah, girls can get pregnant as soon as their eggs start 'ripening' which when they get their periods. one of my friends got hers in 4th grade.
It depends. Lots of male and females are growing up too fast. But for good reasons. i grew up quick, realising bullshit, basically I am very mature for my age. Sure it sucks missing out on being an immature little fucker when you are young. But for some kids they had to grow up fast in order to take care of their familt with absent parents. And i appreciate all kids who have to deal with a family they didnt make, but ehre parents did. Those kids deal through a lot of shitt their parents cant. They have a lot of responsibility.

yes i totally agree...
and that is the only problem i see with girls growing up to fast...
i lost mine at 15 which is still young...and i regret it so much, more than anything...
and my advice to young girls is to wait, though most would tell me shove my advice up my ass...
but in the end its not worth it...
wait and it will be much better...
and i also advise to wait until you seriously love the guy and know he loves you back...
cause if there is no love, why do it?
to get it over with?
well thats stupid...
and dont be a slut...

Yes, I know that I was young, but I'm not a slut. I genuinely loved him, and you can't call someone a slut if they did it out of love, in my opinion. That part of me may be mature, but the rest of me is still a kid.

its actually extremly mesed up how the ten year olds being preganant DOESNT surpries me.........i mean theyre still just little kids themselves. when i was 10 i played with dolls.....not barbies though actiona man i wasnt even hanging round with boys at that age! its only last year ive made some really good guy friends.....anf that was when i was 13, and i can saftly say at 14 i dont act like that 10 year old....
