Music to my ears:
I think that smoking is such an important part of society and it needs to be reduced but then again if smoking was just banned all together can you imagine the war and chaos it would be devistating!
...I'm hoping the last bit was sarcasm.

I'm not totally for smoking and I'm not totally against it. Again it's just something that I got into to help me feel better when I was down.

a law was just passed saying that it's banned everywhere in Kentucky except homes and Churchill Downs....I'm sorry but second hand smoke isn't that bad
you would have to be living with someone who smokes for years for it to even have a chance of affecting you

my mom lived with her dad until she was a teenager, he smoked eight packs a day..her lungs are healthier than mine!

I don't see why there is so much discremination (yes, I'm using that word because anti-smoking seems about as senseless, propagandous, and brutal as sexism and racism, and homophobia, except there are actually laws on smoking) against smoking!

I can see why people would be against it for health reasons, but what other people choose to do with their life is their business. Alot of Anti-smoking people choose to ignore that fact. They can promote not smoking and advertise the harmful effects all they wish, but wanting it banned is crossing the line.

i will admit though that if i am in a resturant and i am put in the no smoking scetion but its near the smokers i will walk out, (obvisouly before ordering my meal) because i have gone out to dinner and sat in the non smoking section and then some one has lit up a cigar which spoilt my meal.

exactly, if you don't like being in the smoking section either don't sit there or leave, just like if you don't like blacks and you're seated next to one you don't have to be there

the threat of you acting more black because of that is about as real as getting cancer from being seated in a smoking section, you need constant exposure for it to affect you

one X-Ray won't mutate your sperm, you need to be near radiation all of the time, same with smoking

True, but second hand smoking is more toxic than smoking, it just takes longer to show. Because you don't have a filter when you are around smokers, you get all the chemicals in your lungs.

But yeah, you have to be around someone for a very long time to get affected. My grummy (Grand Mum) she smoked a lot. But my dad, even though he was away in boarding school most of the time, he still got asthma from second hand smoke. Grummy died of a heart attack from excess smoking. Sad She was the best cook in Britian I swear. Her yorkshire puddings kicked arse.

is the asthma a direct cause of the smoking?
because smoking can contribute to many health risks...but second hand smoke is never a direct cause

even though there is no filter, when you inhale seconhand you aren't inhaling close to what the person with a filter does

I'm just saying, smoking sections worked
they were well ventalated and twenty feet away from the nonsmoking sections...but making smokers smoke right outside the door is absolutely retarded
now all of the smoke is consintrated in the one area everyone walks through...not only that, but since it's such a small area, the smoke stays there

but of course it's going to take 1.5 billion dollars of the taxpayers money later to realize that this is another thing maknig all of life work

it will be anti-smoking adds all over again

No countries will ban smoking completely, because the cabinet can collect large sums of money from the cigarrette companies.

It actually was a direct cause. I'm pretty sure my dad didn't have weak lungs before his asthma.

Anyway, yeah, smoking sections still work, but I don't care. I still find it inconvenient when people smoke around me. Twenty feet, I guess I can take. The worst though is teenagers. Now I've smoked like five times, and I've never liked it so it drives me crazy to see people younger than me smoking. I just don't understand them. Of course I'm being a little blind-sided, but to me, they tend to be the most ignorant of smokers. They don't care where they light up and usually accompany smoking with drinking and then all hell breaks loose. All the noise and bitching and laughing and drunkeness. It drives me nuts. At least I don't do that in public areas.

France is the worst, you honestly can't go anywhere without someone smoking. And there are almost no non-smoking areas. Very annoying.
