I think smoking is disgusting. I have friends and family that smoke and I just put up with it. But I'll never smoke. And I don't think I could date someone that smokes, unless I really, really liked them. My uncle smokes and he had 2 heart attacks, but he still smokes. My other uncle is a heart attack waiting to happen. My one friends is like,"Ali and I are planning to go through chemo together. Me for lung cancer and Ali for skin cancer." I'm like,"Well, in my plans, I don't plan on getting cancer." Now, I still put my life at risk. I don't really eat right and I don't excersise. And, obivously there are other things that can kill you.

Didn't I post something about shisha? That's funny because this is the second time I think that some of my posts have been deleted, and I don't know why.
Seriously though, I really want to know people's opinions on the shisha ban in the UK.

Yeah.. We had a bit of a shisha discussion.. but I think they were deleted because of the site breaking down and needing to be backed up and all that shite.

What to you guys think about parents potentially given tickets for smoking in the prescence of children? Kids don't get to make the choice of where they get to go, they really can't avoid smoke on their own. And I really don't think parents have the right to expose their kids to smoke. True, second hand smoke isn't as bad for you, but it isn't healthy either.

That's a violation of freedom.
Parents have the right to raise a child as they so wish, as long as it's legally sound, whether others believe they are doing a good job or not. If parents want to bring up their child in a smoking environment that's their perogative, doesn't mean the children are forced to take up the habit.
For the record, I have smoked heavily in the past...I tend to relapse now and again, but haven't done so for several months. The anti-smoking brigade really get on my nerves- smokers are now driven out of pretty much any enclosed public space, isn't that enough?

If parents want to smoke they can always do it outside, or out a window.

But the actual smoke is unhealthy for the child, and if a parent puts their child in an unhealthy environment, that isn't legal. Why would any good parent want to increase their childs chance of getting lung cancer?

I think smoking is one of the dumbest things are person can do.
I'm straight edge.
Best lifestyle choice i ever made.
And of course you CAN'T sue a tobbaco company are you stupid?
Unless it was a company that didn't have warnings, and you were kinda desperate for money.

...She didn't say she'd get a 'masochistic kick', just described it as destructive behaviour.. There's a difference.
She said she couldn't cope without hurting herself in some way.
Pretty masochistic if you ask me.
Coping and sexual relief are two different things, in my opinion.

Masochism:
1.Psychiatry. the condition in which sexual gratification depends on suffering, physical pain, and humiliation.
2.gratification gained from pain, deprivation, degradation, etc., inflicted or imposed on oneself, either as a result of one's own actions or the actions of others, esp. the tendency to seek this form of gratification.
3.the act of turning one's destructive tendencies inward or upon oneself.
4.the tendency to find pleasure in self-denial, submissiveness, etc.
..not just sexual..

One time I was in class and this girl wanted to have a cigarette and the teacher was like, "Go outside and smoke and then come back." Then he was like,"Actually you can smoke in here, just sit next to the window." So the girl and two other people sat next to the window and smoked. It was hilurious cause that isn't something a teacher would let you do. Even if you are in college. The one guy is like, "Can you take a picture of this? I need proof that this actually happened."
My parents were like," You should report your teacher. He isn't allowed to do stuff like that." I was like, "Whatever." And I don't even smoke.
