 | September 14th, 2005 at 02:55am some english books i read and loved (cuz i have a lot of faves in french, but in english, i haven't read so much yet...):
The Catcher in the Rye -J.D. Salinger
The Outsiders - S.E. Hinton
The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown
Holes - Louis Sachar (yeah...theres a movie on it too...but the book is cool...o_O)
i want to read:
Harry Potter (the fifth one, which i still haven't read...o_O) - J.K. Rowling
Misery - Stephen King
and probably a lot more too, i love to read...
and if any of you speaks or knows how to read french, i really recomend:
Cosmétique de l'ennemi - Amélie Nothomb (pure genius, the whole book is just one big dialogue...o_O)
Et si c'était vrai - Marc Levy (i ca n't remember if it exists in english, but i'd be positive yes, because it's the book that inspired the movie 'Just Like Heaven'...)(and come to think about it, i think it was WRITTEN in english...so nevermind...o_O)
and if you're REALLY courageous and you think you master french, read Un Ange Cornu Avec Des Ailes De Tôle - Michel Tremblay...very good...written in normal-speaking language...the language of everyday french-speaking people...
ok...that was long...haha...anyways |

Age: 18 Gender: Female Posts: 3312 | October 13th, 2005 at 07:16am The Stephanie Plum series...by Janet Evanovich (examples: One for the Money, Two for the dough, Three to get deadly, etc..The best one is #10. Dont' worry, I started with that one!!!!)
Harry Potter
Like The Red Panda (oooh that one was GOOD. Topic of suicide and teenageres...ooo)
The Wishbones (not yet done with it because of English...ugh)
The book I'm reading now (actually really behind in the reading...) "A separate peace". I'm actually getting into this one easier than most school books. One of the reasons is one of the charecteres is charectarized like Billie Joe. So, I'm thinkin it's a fanfic or something. lol |
