see, there are stories and novels that can be great as a movie. some will be rubbish.
in A Note Don't Come Easy, there is so much emotion and feelings, so much love, hate, confusion, thought. and you cant possibly put that on screen. it's impossible.
no decent director would agree to that and you'd be left with the sucky one. and then you'd get a sucky film and no one would watch it, and no one would read the real story, so it would all be for nothing really.
