Why are there no punks left? If there are no punks left, can someone explain the term to me?
Oh, there are plenty of punks left.
There are so many different definitions of punk, but I'll give you mine:
It isn't a fashion, it isn't a music scene (god knows I listen to 70's uk punk and i'm the furthest from punk you could ever be). It isn't about being a left wing anarchist, it isn't about that.
It's pretty much undefined: you can't label yourself as a punk, you just are. The first punks didn't label themselves punk, they just were.
So I think; you shouldn't go out and try to be Punk, it'll come to you if you really are.
Someone wrote that there are no punks left . . . I was trying to figure it out. I know you can't call yourself a punk. It's a state of mind, IMO, and to call yourself a punk is totally hypocritical. If you fit the stereotype, it isn't YOUR fault !

we're not all violent, there are violent people who live on private eastate who go to private schools. It makes me mad when people tar evryone who lives in council housing with the same brush.

Yes, I also got told that that was what Chav stood for.
i remember when a girl turned on me, calling me goth, mosher, greasy greebo, and shit like that... i was reduced to tears twice, and considered suicide.
after the heat was off, and after about a month, shes ok again and we were kinda friends again... now she says to me "oh, im going mosher," and im like "WTF? you cant just say your gonna become a label... thats stupid" and she wasnt listening... she was headbanging.
AND all the chavs in my school are mates with her. because she says to them "chavs rule, im a chav," and says to me "im a mosher, chavs suck."
shes nice to me, but this is just two faced...
i have three labels.
CHAV: tracksuit, trousers tucked in socks, etc...
ANTI-CHAV: hates chavs, because the chavs label them, so it causes tension.
PEOPLE WHO ARENT INVOLVED: they can like both, none or one of the above, and arent bothered by chavs.

Oh wonderful, lets all promote labels and social cliques. Chavs don't exist, along with punks, preps, goths, ect. Anyone who goes on and on about their label can be called an Idiot, I know plenty of those.
dude ive been called punk goth poser prep & emo & none of them make sense. people at school just dont like me & i think they just want an excuse. but dont think i actually care. people like that kinda piss me off anyway
